Bye bye Scoob, you'll be missed....
Well, the time has finally come This is my last weekend with "Scoob".
As most of you now know as Chris and I are going our separate ways I won't be able to afford to keep Scoob on my own, so I thought I should remind you all how fantastic these cars are
The last couple of years have been amazing! Little did I know that buying a speedy japanese car would give me the opportunities it has. I've met some brilliant people and made some life long friends through the SIDC/Scoobynet meets, in fact my entire plans this weekend involve friends I wouldn't have met if it wasn't for Subaru's! lol!
Some highlights have been:
* The MENCAP rally last year - great support from the Scoobs with people travelling from as far as Bexhill-on-sea to drive between Warminster and Yeovil raising money for Charity...this year we've potentially got people from Tyne Tees Scoobs coming down!! A great party and excellent driving.
* Santa Cruise - what can you say about that?!
* Muppet Camp in the Lake District, excellent giggle and stunning scenery.
* The Nottingham Big One - it was amazing glancing in your rear view mirror to see the enire 3 lanes of the motorway filled with Scoobs! SOOOoooo many cars.
* The Southern Big One - nice one Duracell, Dyney and Gossy kidnapped a bus to enable us to take the picture of 70+ scoobs all lined up looking pretty lol!
* Castle Coombe Rally Day's - seeing A McRae doing doughnuts and the first outing for the "Hampshire Subaru" flag - cool!
* Getting Petter to sign my fog light cover...yeah, ok - sad I know, but I'm allowed..
* Every Hants meet I've ever been to. From day 1 I was made to feel welcome, great bunch of people and they're not getting rid of me that easily! ...although they might have to give me a head start for convoys as the Disco isn't that quick!
These have to be the one of the makes of car in the world with a unique character, the full decat turns heads and I'll miss chatting to the people filling up in the petrol station about the car. I guess the Shell garage will miss me...I've had more chats with school kids abut the car when I'm out and about doing traffic surveys than I did when I was teaching. There's something about the Scoob!
I love the fact I can cruise along the motorway at 60/65 and then drop the windows and blast down the bypass turning everyone in my rear view mirror into little specs in the distance (ok, maybe not if my neighbour in his M5 happens to be coming home at the same time as me, but you get the idea ). Nothing beats the flat four rumble.
Anyway, I'll be back and I'm sure you're all bored of this by now...I've got a few years to save for my next one...Mm, P1? RA? Spec C? Good job I've got a while to decide!!

It's going to be a sad day when your Scooby goes we all know how much you loved it, more than Chris at times
Your enthusiasm at the Hants meets will be greatly missed, just don't go and buy yourself a BMW deisel, your not that old and sensible yet
Colin.

Sorry to hear about this Jen - not nice to have to give up the scoob at all.
Like you say though - get saving and get a P1. Or a Type25.
Hope you're all OK.....

Hi Jen,
Sad to hear that the time has come to say goodbye , but not to all your friends!
Of course, we'll see you at the Mencap rally soon! and possibly a few meets here and there?
Take care

Thanks guys You're all stars!!
I'll still be at the meets and trips etc. Can't miss out on those... and Dyney - you're so right! Nothing will stop the Disco (well, after a few choice mods
Stripped Scoob at the weekend, very strange to see him without his glittery badge and smilie stickers...still, I've got lots of piccies...
