Default Cambridgeshire (and suffolk maybe)

ive asked the same question in "non-scooby related", so sorry for the cross-post, but i know a lot of people dont read "non-scooby", so am hoping for additional advice here.

ive been offered a job about 5 miles south-east of cambridge, cambridgeshire that i am going to accept today

does anyone have any opinions on good and bad areas around there?

what kind of property can you get for 180-200k (thats what my one in hampshire is worth.. it would be nice to get cheaper tho).

are towns/villages like fulbourn, cherry hinton, great wilbraham good? what about ones closer to newmarket as they seem to be a lot cheaper?

any advice on cheap (but still "ok") areas to find places to rent (i may need to rent for a time while selling my house in hampshire)?

any advice on (cheapish but good) hotels in the area just incase i need to stay up there for a couple of days in the meantime for househunting?

what about good places to go for fun? shopping, stuff to do etc etc.

where to go and where not to go (to ensure my scoob isnt vandalised etc)

any other advice will be warmly received thanks

hi milo
i would stay away from cherry hinton and newmarket.the houses are expensive and the areas are getting a bad name for burglery and car crime.i live about 15 miles from cambridge and the property is still quite cheap and crime low.
cambridge has good shops and cinemas but as with anywhere parking and traffic are a problem.
if you would like to know more i would be glad to help
