M40/M25 convoy to Thurrock for Tunnel Cruze
Ok, Who's going to this tunnel cruze then? I think there are a few of us who are going from this side of london. So who wants to meet and go to thurrock in convoy
My first Idea is to meet at Mcdonalds just outside Uxbridge at 9am? Any better ideas?

SlowBoy, sorry mate got a full day of domestic bits and bobs to take care of, so probably will be busy for a good part of the day. May have an hour or 2 to spare if i get my **** out of bed early so if i do i'll give u a buzz and if its not convenient - no worries. BTW yes ive got service, mot and some tasty Ferodo pads along with goodridge kit etc. to sort out with Angie on Mon. Should be interesting!

Good to see u guys again, it was a pretty decent spur-of-the-moment mini-meet SlowBoy. It looks like we should meet more often without any notice at all!! Look forward to the main event on the 29th

hi guy's,,, was a great mini meet and good to see you all again. I had a blast on the run showin off a bit!!! although i'm sure my undeveloped driving skills could do with some honing!!
Asif.... R u o.k??!! hope I didn't cause any long term damage to your feelings about sitting in the passenger seat of a scooby!! (jus kiddin!)
good luck with the brakes Pete and I hope you get the result...the B.box sounds great!
p.s: I also think Ace would make a good place to meet for the bash but I'll go with the flow...
Roll on 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denham/A40
....gotta ask, any of you guys hit the Denham roundabout under the A40 at warp factor '**** jockey' that day? You appeared to slow down, although there was so much smoke from rubber burning as you did I could not see if you managed to or not before entering the r-a-b

: eek : - didn't see smoke. Was following the cool grey type R on the way out, then jumped into it to lead on the way back. Was there at around 4pm.
paul_davies - as per your original post, 9am sounds about right. If it's OK with you guys then come on over to Ace for 9.15. I'd prefer to meet there so we can get some half decent coffee before heading out. I reckon as long as we leave by 9.30 at the latest we should be ok to hook up with tiny and his boys for 10.30. They're planning on heading out at 11am, so we should be covered. If you'd prefer to keep things simple with just one meeting point then just say. We can all make it to Uxbridge just as easily.
Just remembered, there's a few other guys coming from Twickenham and Hanworth. Will give them a call.

I will be up for the Cruise, if you can sort out where and when to pre meet, coming over from Oxford for a blast.
I have just found the mc donalds, I trust it is this one from the map.

I am easy for the mc donalds or the Ace

Looks like i missed out on all the fun when i left u guys on sunday! Nevermind the cruise should give ample opportunity to have a blast or two. Yes, finally sorted out my brakes and am very happy - gives so much more confidence when horsing it towards a bend or cornering.
SCRAPPY - good to meet u - one hell of a nice scoob and im sure it will make some great sounds after the trip to h&s.
Look forward to the 29th - 9.15am at Ace cafe sounds good. C u all then

SCOOBNOV: Thanks for the welcome.
King RA: Thanks for the pointer, had a look on the map, it looks like the Mc Donalds on the corner of Packhorse Road and Marsham Way
Is that right ?
Slow Boy: yep that looks ok with me
Ace Cafe
A406
M11
M25
Thurrock
You must have put your settings for Autoroute on Turbo, 40.6miles (56 minutes).
I make that M11 route, SUMMARY Driving distance: 51.8 miles Driving time: 1 hour, 15 minutes on the default setting, that looks a much more interesting route I must say.
And it is about 28 miniutes from the Mc Donalds to the Ace
SlowBoy: not trying to hijack your timings and I am sure you can drive real fast, but autoroute default setting and leaving a few minuests for holdups
With your approval how about this
How about these leaving times, its about what you said anyway, I have got Sat Nav so should not get lost
08.45 from mc donalds
09.15 from Ace Cafe
To get start point for
10.30 Thurrock Services for a chat with the boys and girls
11.00 Start of Cruise

Sounds good to me, Ajax.
I'm not too familiar with Autoroute and it's accuracy regarding timings, but I reckon you should easily make it from Uxbridge to Hanger Lane in 15 minutes on a Sunday morning. There's a few cameras as you approach Hanger Lane, so keep to the 40mph limit.
Since paul_davies started this thread perhaps we should wait for him to confirm on these meeting points, before we finalise plans. As long as his lot are OK with the above route then I guess it's ON!!!
Should be a good 'un.

Forget what I just said about 15mins from Uxbridge to Ace...just looked up the McD's, lol. Defo looks more like 28 mins! I was thinking Uxbridge as in town centre!
Checked the Autoroute again and still coming up with 40 miles from Ace to jct 30, M25??? From the McD's it looks like 53 miles (1hr 21mins).
I'm all for playing it safe and leaving early.

OK, it looks like everything is sorted then!
Leaving 8:45 at Mc D's for Ace Cafe and then leaving Ace at 9:15 for Thurrock.
I think that Uxbridge to the Ace should only take 15 mins, but better safe than sorry.
Who's gonna organise the Ace end? Anyone who want's my number private mail me.
