I hope to make this one. Last one (my first) was full of vintage bone shakers. I (for some peculiar reason) turned up at 9 oclock. I was told about the meet on the day I picked my scoob up from the dealers but the time wasnt mentioned. Ballsed it right up. Lets hope the weather aint crap.

New car!!!! Can't you bring the old one? I'm sure there would be people crowding round it!
I have been informed there may be a couple of new cars with existing members coming
Little Clanger,
Which dealer?

ONE of these days I might be in the country on the right weekend?
It looks like I wont be around until mid next year for what will be my first meet although I'm pushing for a trip home earlier!
Until then it looks like she will carry on driving my 00 Turbo into the ground!
Better start saving for the new one me thinks!
Happy/Safe driving you lucky buggers!

All.
Pictures below. Apologies for not taking the '4rse end' shots quick enough when you all 'rumbled out' .... you're all just too fast for me! I'll get lower and closer next time, if I dare

Excellent photos!
Great to see some old faces managing to make it and good to see all the rest.
Sorry the weather was chilly but at least it was dry
If anyone gets a cold in the next few days it's got nothing to do with me!!

Good pics Jason . With so many STi's there its a good job I've got mudflaps on mine so its easier to recognise.
Good to meet you Little Clanger (Clive). Get yourself done to Gatwick and get that Whiteline kit. Go on, you know you want to . Oh, and Andy O, you as well. Tell Dave that Mark sent you!!
Charlie, glad you enjoyed the drive . It was fun wasn't it?! I lead a nice group of STi's to the pub. We got some admiring looks from the other motorists .

Excellent pics. Best part of Sunday was the blat from the services to the pub.
Charlie,
didnt dee that dent in the off side rear door. It looks nasty. Hope the b@stard broke his foot doing it.
My first time on Sunday, so didnt get very many names of those there. Who was the guy with the WR Blue Bugeye STI with the 18inch gold OZ's and blue mud flaps? If you are reading this, can you let me know what make that exhaust was again, where you can get it from and how much it was. The sound was awesome. Does the STi with the PPP sound anything like that? Didnt you say something about being wary of boost spikes with your exhaust? how and where did you get round that if it was a problem?

Looks like you pre-empted my question Mark. Couldnt remember your name mate. Any help with those exhaust questions?
Will be down at Gatwick at end of Jan for some major tweaky bits to the car. Handling pack a definite after trying (and failing) to follow you round some of those roundabouts. PPP and 18-inch gold Prodrive flitters going on also. Fancy some of them carbon strut braces and also theres no more sitting on the fence on the mud-flap question either. They look good.

Mark - Was brilliant, until I went haring over that bump in the road only to be met by a police van coming the other way luckily I think he wsa blinded by the scoob entourage
Little Clanger - Car was supposed to be going in to be fixed yesterday but they said that I wouldn't have it back before Xmas so its going in on 8/1/04 instead now.
Look forward to the next one

Charlie,
funny you should mention that police van. We turned left at the mini roundabout onto the airport perimeter road and the van was infront of me. We werent going slow. As 555 turned, the blue lights came on. We both hoofed it and I was flashing him like mad to warn. When I looked in the RVM we were well gone. Scoobies 1, Cop Van 0. They probably didnt see us all but even still. My license trembled with fear.

You trembled, I was in the middle of the road and doing some stupid speed as my car left the road going over the hump I came face to face with the van having got 3 points for speeding down in Southend last month I thought I was done for
With all that and not being able to see Fulham's brake lights to the last minute and having to use the ABS more than enough times it was actually quite good fun

It wouldn't be the first time we've had a visit from the local constabularly at a West Sussex meet...but thats another story.
The exhaust on mine is the Blitz Nur spec R. It replaces the back box and rear-centre section. Its also necessary to get a new forward-centre section which mates the 3" blitz centre piece to the 2.5" standard downpipe. My boost peaks at about 1.5bar and holds at about 1.2bar. Don't think this is anything like the boost spikes that were first encountered when some owners fully decatted their STi's. I think these boost spikes have been resolved by playing around with the restrictor size.
The Blitz is generally acknowledged to be the one of the loudest exhausts available. The PPP is a more subtle tone and a bit more neighbour friendly . Of course, as we discussed you must be aware of warranty implications. A change to anything other than a Prodrive exhaust may well invalidate that part of the warranty. I think there may well have been one case seen on Scoobynet of an owner having problems with IM after changing just the backbox on his car. So be warned .
Details of the Blitz are here together with a list of dealers. I got mine from Jamie at http://www.j-w-racing.co.uk/.
The handling kit made such an improvement to my 2002 STi. I had the Prodrive springs, Whiteline uprated anti-roll bar, droplinks and anti-lift kit fitted together with the 4 wheel alignment. I wish I'd had it done sooner.
Re the mudflaps, I have a feeling theres a bit of a shortage of those at the mo. I think Dave at Gatwick has an alternative source.
Cheers

Thanks Mark,
I checked the links - good package for the money. Wouldnt mind one, but I will check to see if after the PPP has been carried out, I can swap the pipes at will in case the car has to go back to the dealers for anything.
