Hi everyone
For info. I had my car RR tested at SAS (aka Tuning Japanese) last August 2002 - Keith and Julia were there too - and I have great praise for them. They are a VERY professional bunch and really nice guys. A friend of mine has just had his P1 rebuilt there.
For those who have not been on a RR day before. They get you all to sign a waiver (if your car blows up, it's not their fault) which is pretty standard procedure. Then you're all put in a running order (decided randomly by them) and you park up outside and wait to be called. The guys reverse your car onto the rollers and strap it down, wire it up (testing oil temp and pressure etc) and then they start it up listening inside with headphones for detonation etc.
Then (i think i'm right in saying) they put it into first gear (to get it rolling) and then straight into fourth or fifth (Keith may be able to confirm this). I'm sure they didn't run it through the gears right up to the redline. It really was very gentle on the car.
You can all stand around inside the workshop while this is going on and they have a tv screen in there which shows the dyno readings as they're happening - it's quite nailbiting to watch it when you're car's on there.
Then they unstrap the car, take off all the sensors and that's it - they drive it out and you wait for your paper dyno readings.
Have no doubt - if your car is detting or has other problems they can see from the tests they carry out YOUR CAR WILL NOT BE RUN, on the day I went they had a couple of cars that they tested and refused to run.
All in all - a great day and I was pretty pleased with my MY95 WRX reaching 261bhp with no mods (apparently) and I was the only girlie there too!!
Jen - if there's any spaces left, I have a friend who couldn't make the day last year that would love to run his STIiv, please put me on the reserve list.
Sorry this message is so long - hope it helped some people!
Jo

I forgot to mention that a reputable tuning company in Southampton is looking into getting a Dynapack rolling road the same as Abbey Motorsports. This is the best rolling road on the market as it bolts to the wheel hubs and there is no tyre slip on the rollers.
Colin.
Forgot to say, Andy is that a Ford Puma gearknob ? I'm not that good at recognizing other *****, only my own

Hello all,
As promised - a rolling road day in Hampshire After being in contact with the recommended companies (and not hearing back from a few dispite multiple phone calls) I've been incontact with Tuning Japanese in Aldershot.
They will do us a whole day of Rolling Road action and if we can get 21 cars the price will be £45 each. "But that's £10 more than P.E." I hear you say! Yup - but as Len pointed out the graphs hold alot more detail, see HERE for an example Of course, if it's not popular I can contact P.E and organise one there instead
The details:
* Each car will be run twice (so no flukey readings)
* 21 cars needed
* Cost £45 each, deposit payable of £22.50 to me to confirm your place asap if you're interested (I won't confirm until I've recieved 21 deposits as unsuprisingly I can't afford to loose that much money!!)
* details about the rolling road here
* example of a graph produced here
* can organise a burger van for the day if you all want one
Let me know if there are any questions - or just sign up below (or e-mail jen@hantsscoobies.plus.com)
Thanks
Jen

What issues? We had a day there a while back that Maffa organised and it was great! Really well organised. Trout found the fans were actually forcing his IC spray back out of the scoop sure ...but there were no other complaints.
I'd be hoping to attend

Whey hey.
Count me in.
They are a good company. Went there for an EVO rolling road day (back when I had an EVO 6 - don't slag me off !!) and it was a good day out.

Saturday the 6th is my Dad's birthday, I wonder if he wants to come along and see if I can fluke 300 bhp again in my near standard WRX. December is to soon for me to have any new mods but I will come along anyway, hopefully I haven't lost another 20 bhp since G force RR day.
Len it wasn't me who said your new power steering pump would give you an extra 10 bhp, it must have been rally colin.
I haven't seen let alone driven my Scooby since the last Hants pub meet in Pompy so it's going to feel fast what ever
Colin.

'fraid not - I'm on a week off to recover from last week which I also had off, but in Spain. It's a hard life . Off to bed now though - hope you have a nice (but not too quiet cos they're the worst) shift.
