Met some of you (Ron and Co) several months ago when I was in Poole)

Thinking of planning a trip down south taking in your 'Best' roads.

What do you suggest?

Take a look at some websites - I've just done the same, purely for the drive (well, ok, took some scenic photos too and saw the parents). That was from Surrey round to Essex, then up to the Norfolk coast and back across the country through Cambs/Beds before (ughh..) rejoining the M25 to get home.

I ended up doing a search on bere too all the way back to 2001 inclusive for posts about good / the best roads to drive in the UK... If you want me to mail ya what I found let me know (there's a big long list of a couple hundred somewhere but can't direct you to it right this moment).

Otherwise, good starting points:

UK's Best and Worst Roads
Driving Roads
The Point and Squirt site's list
Roads in the UK
TyreKickers roads page - dunno if this link will work, if not go to http://www.tyrekickers.com/ and find the roads section.

Hope that helps. Where abouts down south are you going? I have my fave's in Surrey/Hants (A339, others), and some really nice ones I've discovered in Herts too (A4155 for a start).
