There was apparently something in the paper saying that Triton have bought all of Chapelgates tools, I know this to be the case anyway, none of us have heard anything about a new main dealer though, triton are independant, I reckon Subaru are daft if they don't have a dealer round here, there's too much trade to be lost!!

Ron.

ps, why not come to a meet?? we don't bite!! they're normally local, but sept will be a bit of a trek, there's another thread for it!

Not much of a write in the Echo, just basically said that they had bought all the specific Subaru information and tooling, just what we need really, a quality independant that does top work without Subaru main dealer prices which I think we all know are far too expensive

I went to Triton last friday, and i was well impressed. Some people say don't expect red carpet treatment, but they looked after me fine. Even picked me up which was nice, their work was really good and the price, well, compared to sparsh*ts was A LOT cheaper! So who needs a dealer? Problem with dealers are cos they are attached with a good name (ie subaru) they'll charge you a fortune cos they know that most people want to take their car to a 'named' garage. Some Indepedents are usually better cos of the personal service and thats how they get a good rep....cept for the cowboys...yeeehaa!

I spoke to Subaru head office in Birmingham a month ago to ask about their plans for a new main dealer in the Bournemouth area. They said they are in discussions but had to be rather vague about the details - not surprisingly. They did say they expected a new dealer to be appointed within 6 to 12 months and it would be within 10 miles of Chapelgates.

I wanted to know because I was planning to buy my first scoob, but didn't want to treck to Soton every time for a service - I've had the scoob for two weeks now and haven't stopped smiling since.
