**Updated, details & time on page 3**
As per the title, this month the meet is a year old
It was first started by Hol at the begining of August last year, and I for one am grateful that he did, as I have met & made many new friends through the meets.
The BBQ will be Sunday 31st, time & venue yet to be decided, any input will be appreciated - checked out a few KCC Counrty parks, but they don't allow BBQ's anymore
**update** we have a venue, please read further down
I will be making some calls tomorrow to see if I can arrange anything - I will post here if I get any results.
If all else fails, we'll just have to have it in my back garden & fill the car park up - my neighbours will be SO pleased!!
(If Hades & Calder reply, you know the food is safe
)
Also - you may have noticed the name has changed, I have acquired the domain name www.kentscoobies.com and am in the process of setting up a club, so ideas for the web site (and some help!) - it will be for the Kent scooby comunity, so it's up to you what goes on it.

Has it really been that long?
Its funny how time flies, when I started the meets it was purely because we had such an underused venue at the F1 Bar. Unfortunately, its appeal to us was its downfall
BBQ wise, I do not think that any park will endorse an open fire?BBQ, unless it is a static one that they rent out. However, you always see people cooking on the disposible jobs in the car parks.
Just go to a Racing circuit and you'll see what I mean.
With this in mind I can suggest the upper car park of Capstone Park in Chatham which is not as popular as the lake/lwr car park and has a open field next to it.
Alternatively, we could see if Buckmore Park, or any local Scout Group would rent out their grounds for a day?

Buckmore park is closed
Unfortunateley most Scout groups don't have the grounds for parking, certainly nothing like the numbers we see.
The only alternative to country parks is possibly Camber Sands, though thats goner be busy.

I have success! Teston Bridge Picnic site has facilities, I've just spoken to the warden, he said BBQ's are fine as long as we clear up after ourselves and use bricks to put the BBQ's on - so everyone bring some bricks please!
info & directions here
You can bring all the family, and there are also disabled facilities for those of us who need it, parking is £1 for the day.
Please let me know if you are going to attend & how many and what food, drink etc, you will be bringing, thankyou.

Pele,
Myself 'n' Lesley will be there.
Still got the 3 bbq's left over from Hickstead, and can supply the bricks plus the canopy
And of course, the fridge
Dunno about food yet, what ever takes me fancy the night before in Tescos. Probably the usual.

Mark - We will arrange who is bringing what nearer the time
Arron is coming, so there will be no waste
We will be going to have a look at the weekend & having a chat with the warden to see if we can reserve a spot - he seemed very reasonable on the 'phone
Be nice to catch up with you both.

Ian, you nicked my CORNER! welcome aboard anyway
Hol - nice to see you back again, glad to hear you've found yourself another job, be interesting to see what you 'smother' the beast in...
Went to see Ian (ew4n) last night, he has some good ideas and is helping to design the logo for the club - he also does stickers for very reasonable money, just go & see him with your request, he's there until midnight most days
GTB - you're coming on your own then?
GTB & Leslie
Pele, Lee & Master Jake
Hol, Lady Hol, Junior Hol & Hol Lite
Ian (ew4n) & girlfriend + 1 (wagon maybe)
Trouble with a list is, people don't add to it, or just turn up so it's only a rough idea of how many will be coming.

Just a bit of fun - look on the muppet forum
Basically it's if you get the first one on the page it's a corner, that's all. Take it you're still at work then?
BTW, you can borrow my compressor if you need to.
