I'm having an event next month to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, and in the spirit of the 70s I would like to take the family to a good old fashioned carvery.

It should be a proper carvery, (not two slices of meat warmed up with a spot of gravy) and preferably in the south of the county, but if it's particularly good I don't mind travelling.

Any suggestions?

Best Carvery I know that is also great value for money is in Chichester. It's out the back of a pub in the Hornet (End of East St) & I think it was about £8.00 a head last time I went & they have about 4 different meats, silly amounts of vegetables, differnt gravy's etc... All you'd ever need from a Carvery. I think the £8.00 entitles you to keep going up until you're absolutely stuffed. It's a nice pub & there's plenty of parking around the back as there's a public carpark. Also there's a couple of other pubs & a nice wine bar within about 2 minutes walk if you wanted to go somewhere before or after.

All this is very nice but I can't remember the bleedin pub name. I'll get back to you

p.s. I await all the comments of "Trust MAFFA to know where the good food is!!"

Thanks MAFFA, that sounds good, but I was hoping for somewhere a little further east.

Went to a nice one down on Brighton Marina once. About 10 years ago though so I can't remember the name.
