Ok - so nicely organised guys
Meeting at Ower, going the Sailsbury way, what time are we aiming for? I suggest we aim to get there at around the same time as the Crosshands meet guys, so I'll keep an eye on that thread..anyone feel pasionate about this issue or should we just go along with them?
...I'll e-mail Phil and get his number so we can let him know when we're getting close and him and the SIDC guys can look out for us and direct us the right way - unless this has already been done? Let me know!

Hello All,
Just thought we'd start a thread for Japfest as it's getting closer!
I suggest meeting at the Ower services as per the rally day last year Public are allowed in a 9am, I know Colin's on the SIDC stand - do you have to be there early?
I know the others are meeting at the Crosshands pub before hand, but that's north of the M4, anyone want to join them?
Suggestions for a leaving time anyone? Sign up below!

Andy,
So you saw sense in the end then Let us know how the car feels after it comes back - ours was transformed and we only had the 4 wheel alignment!!!
I think the plan was to go up the A36 via Salisbury and go the country way as before, but I guess it depends what people want to do on the day...
Chris

I reckon the same route as b4 as you say Chris
Yeh, someone told me it really needed setting up after the springs, didnt fancy using it for competition(as I am on Monday) with fudged sparshatts geometry so have a trip to Powerstation - was lucky they can squeeze me in on time. Looking forward to the new set up - but this is it for the mods, really, though my flipping brake pads are 60-70 percent dead already, only changed them 13k miles ago
Are we expecting Mr Goon and any of the Bournemouth gang as b4??

Hiya Chris,
...er...good question! tbh I have no idea which way we went last time, my "party trick" is getting hopelessly lost! lol!
I have a feeling it was A36/A350, maybe one of the others can give you an idea, or if you suggest a place it would be good too meet...I don't know which are the good roads around there...
Anyone got a route plan?

just had a look on auto route, suggested route:
Stay on A36 from salisbury to warminster
Just after warminster take the A350 to Trowbridge, then Melksham and finally Chipenham before heading to Castle Combe on the A420 & B4309
IIRC they are nice roads and include quite a few twisties with a couple of towns/villages to rumble through
There is a McD's on route as you pass through Melksham i think (i will confirm) perhaps i could tag on from there.
What time will you be leaving southampton ?

Oh - and Tiny suggested meeting the Essex lot before hand, he suggested: "the little chef/burger king on the A350 Just before Allington This is just of J17 (M4) then pick up A420, B4039 to CCombe We should be there approx 8-45am"
...now, I assume this would be going past the A420 for us, which of course isn't really a problem, does anyone fancy meeting up? Not sure how far out of our way this would be, or about the timescales? thoughts?

Cant believe im gonna miss Jap Fest ....Gutted !!!!
Went to Santa Pod yesterday and gate crashed the VW ''run what you brung'' day.
All went fine on my first ever rag up a drag strip. Car was running mid 13's without too much trouble ( Massive head wind). VW boys were getting a bit intimidated I think, the girl doing the prep said they wouldnt race me anymore and called in a 200 odd BHP Mini running nitrous. Oh SHxt. He done me by a car length running a 13.3 one hell of a mini let me tell ya, haha. Was a good day and scoob was one of only 4 cars there running over 100 MPH over the line. Other cars raced were a bettle, a G60 golf (mk2) and a VR6 corrado....SEE YAA fellas.
All in all I loved it. I'm sure that in the real world my times and reaction times were very very slow, but who cares I loved every minute of it.
See ya soon
