Once again another good turn out - Bad news sunday lunch time it done 11 valves, for those of you that dont know the cambelt tensioner bolt sheared and caused the the above damage. good news - there is none yet.
I've ordered 16 valves rather than just replace the bent ones to be on the safe side.
Not having much luck at the moment

We all appear to have been a little quiet this month on the organinsing front.
So how about a gathering on the 29th ?
2.00-2.30 at Coopers on the Hailsham Road ?
Coopers Map
Newbies as always are more than welcome.
I have a nice little drive in my head which should provide a few nice blasts, with some more good twisties.
Nathan..
P.S Keith please tell me you have some ESS stickers left

and i had it cleaned. well the g/f did anyway
Oh and i forgot to mention, due to failing my MOT cos a tree branch fell in front of me and damaged the alloy, i've got some new 17" wolfrace something or other alloys with 215x40x17 tyres.
I'm seriously hoping to have the gauges and apec thingy fitted this Fri/Sat but it depends on whether they can do it or not.
if not i'm buggered if i know who can

ok - so now the BBS will let me reply!
ohh.. you'll have to show me that! as I seriously need some boost control, of some sort or the other, as my ecu is having a fit at the moment (1.4 -> 0.7 -> 0.9 !!)

Hi P.
Bit of advice. I would seriously consider taking the HKS induction kit off and sticking with a pannel filter. As these induction kits tend to make scoobs run poorly due to the MAF getting buggered.
I shall explain why when I see you next. Early cars (like mine) had a more robust MAF in design but induction kits bugger that up as well.
See you soon

well, i did do a little bit of research into this and found that its not the induction kit that does the damage but the initla fitting. Indeed the MAF sensors are very delicate and easily damaged during fitting causing them to have problems in later life. The guy who fitted mine has done lots of work on the my car and we were very very carefull (fingers crossed) with the sensor. And it sounds so much better I Can here the recirc dump valve thingy. But i'll indeed chat more, cos you probably know more than me.
Got this from http://www.tdi-plc.com/IMPREZA.html
"NOTE!!!! The Version 5 airflow meter is extremely delicate and utmost care must be taken when fitting any induction kit. Movement of the meter must be kept to an absolute minimum to enable you to get the maximum life from them. They are a known weak point on the vehicle and many meters have failed even when running standard airboxes. Some people believe that fitment of an induction kit will cause the meter to fail. In reality, it is generally the disturbance of the meter itself that causes the problems, not the actual filter."
Anyone agree?
