Hello All,
As Tim is out and about today he's asked me to post details of his lenthy talks with the hotel ( nice hotel here) for you all this morning
The hotel is Situated in six acres of grounds and gardens on the North Cornish coastline, with stunning views over Mawgan Porth bay also with a sandy beach just in front. They've got a webcam of the beach on the website which, quite frankly, made me wish I wasn't at work this morning! Tim has stayed down the road from this hotel, and thinks it would be a great location for things to do
(the hotel's indicated by the yellow arrow)
We would be aiming for a weekend after the 25th September, the current suggestion being the 3/4th October weekend as then we would get special rates. For those of you who havn't been to Cornwall at this time, it's essentially like winding the clock back a month from the rest of the Country so weather shouldn't be a problem
Prices would include: breakfast and a 4 course evening meal, as well as all the facilities discribed on the website , The hotel is non-smoking all areas apart from the bar and is "family orientated" during main season...giving no excuse for you family scooby owners! Prices would be £48 per person per night based on a two nights stay. Oh, and it's got a swimming pool, so I'm happy (well, bar activities the night before dependant )
...anyway, post your thoughts below!
Jen

Hi Jen,
I hope this one takes off, great idea.
I'm sure the Devon and Cornwall mob will come out to play
We'll show you some nice routes for a run or two.
It's good time of year as all the caravans would be gone by then, only tractors to deal with
Cheers, Grahame.

Jen / Tim. This looks excellent. Will watch for more details. Weekend of 3/4th October sounds good, but any later gets a bit too close to the Rallye Catalunya which I'm hoping to attend.

If we can get a puppy sitter (Mum pleeeaaasee) - Mark and I will be up for this, we've got some very good friends down in Cornwall so this would be an ideal time to catch up with them for a couple of hours !! And an excuse for some *excellent* driving, I know Cornwall quite well and I've got to say late summer/early autumn is fantastic down there (the best time imho)
Excellent price from the hotel too
Rach

Bit of a slow starter so far.....it's not like you haven't had enough warning
Devon and Cornwall scoob owners could you rack your brains to think of tourist stuff to do and email either me or Jen about it.
Thanks
Tim

Well there is the Eden project for a start, Flambards adventure park and loads of other smaller things to do. If you want me to pick up some info and put it in the post for you, it wouldn`t be a problem, just email me with your address and I will get on with it!

Well, so far according to my early morning (ish ) calculations we have the following who have expressed an interest:
Chuck (Old_Fart)
Rach and Mark (STI SPUD)
Lord Harding (& Friends? )
Barry and Lyn (Stoker)
555 Markus
TAZMAN
...and all the Devon/Cornwall Scoobs we would meet down there...so where's everyone else then?!

I'm from portscatho born and bred, live in London now though, but very interested in meeting up in Cornwall, no idea what we could get up to, I've got an 18 foot fletcher speed boat on the south coast so if anyone fancies wakeboarding thats an option

Sorry the scooby got in the way, she does that
As Jen says the webcam speaks louder than words, WEBCAM
Makes me glad I live down this kneck of the woods,
Cheers, Grahame.

lo Jen/All
I have stayed at this hotel, actually quite a few times and its an excellent hotel, it has an amazing reputation in the area. My family have recomended it to loads of people over the years (my parents even used to go there b4 I was born!)
£48 is a bargain, youd struggle to find a travel lodge for that!
Andy
==Markus - Im also going to the rally of Catalunya
