Evening.
Firstly I'd just like to say thanks to all who attended, great turnout, and to Powerstation for having us (oh err missus )
And apologies for turning up late, I had a tyre blow out on the M5 by Taunton, so had to crawl to weston-super-mare on a space saver. Still managed to get to Powerstation before Lee in the Skyline, Lee was seen taking the tour of Cheltenham before heading to Powerstation
T13RBO. Rob I hope you get your car sorted mate, let us know how you get on. Rob's engine gave way on him around Bristol.

It was an excellent day - though Chris's Skyline was definitely the winner
I was sat in the boot at the time - than I pleasure of the mind altering acceleration! Stunning
AFAIK it was 564bhp on low boost - power and torque were still rising and the car wasn't taken anywhere near the rev limiter!
Still trying to work out how I've lost 32bhp in the last year when the only things that have changed were clutch (to a better one) and plugs (to HKS iridium jobbies!)...
Anyway I'll be back and win next time (though you could add it is unfair competition!)

thanks for organising the day Grahame, the whole thing ran really smoothly.
My problems are nothing more serious than a set of dead spark plugs. NF octane booster kills them faster than just running with SUL and they have outlived their service life.
The car ran clean to 5950rpm and then started to miss slightly. Up to that point the torque curve and power curve were spot on, nice flat torque from 3300rpm until the missfire. The car redlines at 7900rpm and limiter hits at 8200rpm so there was still plenty to go past that. 280BHP looks a likely figure i would think.
For me the day was about checking the car didnt det and was running clean, so it was very worthwhile to find the plugs are dead. Thats another one to add to the list of more often replaced parts.
We plugged in the new S.E.C.S. S1001 diagnostic display unit to my car, http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=141885 it was nice to see no fault codes in there. It looks a great piece of kit, very useful and easy to use. I can see myself having one of those in the car sat in my lower din socket.
The rest of the time there was spent with my car being properly aligned. I hit a big manhole cover recently killing my wheels (the wheels i was using today were my grotty track set ) and the handling had lost it's edge so it needed a look at. It turned out my camber and toe front and rear was all over the place, i also had out of tolerence caster up front. Nick fitted some camber bolts to the rear to get the camber setup spot on, he also sorted out the caster and camber up front then set the front and rear toe. It's absolutely spot on now, drives really well and feels much better than it has ever done. Thanks Nick, really profesional setup job.
I really enjoyed the day, it was well worth the trip darn sarth from oop north. Hope you all had as good a day.
cheers

I have only taken 3 corners in the thing russell It's motorway all the way to sunny manchester. It felt fantastic on those 3 though.
It's a big improvement really, much more stable, it should be much better on track.

I can't believe I missed the last Skyline, I was a lightweight and went home just after 12:30, I'm downloading the video now to see what I missed, how pi$$ed off am I
Still, it was a great morning, my mate with the Supra couldn't take the grin off his face, he was expecting about 350 and got 365.5, even with a slight mis-fire. The bloke at powerstation told him with new plugs he'll see at least 370.
I managed a pathetic 228, but I had to turn the dawes down to 0.9 bar because it was spiking and hitting fuel cut when I had it set to 1.1 bar. Time for an FCD methinks. So basically my car was standard UK apart from the full decat.

Top day, thanks again to Springbok. Can't believe I missed that Skyline at the end! Was needing to get back tho! Typical
Bit dissappointed with the results I got,(but it was detting at high revs) and everyone has said that PS rollers read low compared to others, so not too bad.The cars back off to Bob Rawle next week to sort out the detting so thats a relief!
Cheers

Thanks Grahame for a top day
Still trying to work out how I got so much power from a UK car with a full decat exhaust and a air filter
Still I'm not complaining I think it's a top result
Thanks again

Mine hit 230 bhp with panel filter and half exhaust system. MY96 UK
My mate's only managed 213 bhp with similar mods. Guess some cars just respond better to mod's than others.I was only expecting 220
I am going to order myself a new d/p now to squeeze some more out.
Good day just a bit pi**ed off I did not see the skyline at the end, I thought they were not going to put it on!

I am trying to figure out how the plugs on Imprezza's go off so quickly. How often are they changed?. On my bike(ZX6R), its running with the original plugs after 17K and it revs cleanly to the 14,000 rpm redline (under load on the dyno). Even the service interval doesn't state a plug change until 24K.
Is it because the Turbo engines run alot hotter than the normaly aspirated engines.
Just wondering ?.

Well done mate, the bumpsteer mod i had done has made a load of difference. The car seems to feel more solid and footsure now. They certainly know what settings to put on the impreza to make it handle well. Cheers. Ps tried that Toluene today! Only 5% mix to see if it ran ok, IT DID! You should be seeing new speedo pics soon!!!

Sidways isn't running a PPP ECU in his STi7, just a SS exhaust.... I was surpised at the result he got, but his car was det. slightly
I was expecting more from my car RB5 WR with a Tek 2.5 amongst other things, but was well pleased with my 244 Lb Torque figure. It confirms what I thought. The Tek 2.5 (john banks ) is a vaste improvement over the PPP ECU Time to up the boost!! See Fuzz's results.
Top day and well run apart from before Graham arrived, me and SteveB were collecting the cash and sorting the running order...
Tim (Supra) was well pleased with his figure. I saw him out last night up the pub, and he was grinning like a cheshire cat!!!
Lol, best part about the day was all the scoobies (you know who you are boys) flying past Ben in his shiny new EVO on a private road. Lol, he hasn't removed the speed restrictor, so was sat at 120 MPH He was biting
Top day.

That graph will only be "current issue" for this week, as I'm having a link ECU next Saturday...back to powerstation in the afternoon for a "re check"
see what the results are then.
Interesting note to add...
On the Motorway this morning off up to leicester,
Knocklink lit up like a ******* Christmas tree ..never done that before mind you, boot was down, in triple figures, EGT was pushing 800 boost holding 1.2Bar at about 5000rpm
Don't you just love the cold weather.
needless to say I slowed down

It was a great day - I didn't realise there was another Skyline to run as we were told it was just the 1 Scooby left to go
And the journey to and from Cheltenham was also interesting - in all fairness though Ben's EVO6 does look the dogs bollox even if it doesn't go very quick (at the moment)
P.S. Just bought a lovely old WRX today - I am planning on making it the "ultimate" Scoob in Bristol!!!
