So, just want to get serious opinions on what you all thought about the new venue, The Badgers Mount.

Just seeing if we want to go there again next month.

Personally I thought it was quite a nice pub, food was ok, service was a tad slow, but we are used to that

So, what u lot reckon?

As a man burdended with kids I loved the new pub. On a warmer night the benches around the back would be excellent for food and chat.
Service was terrible though, food took forever to arrive, and I will admit I missed the olde woodmans game specials.
My vote stays firmly with the Badgers Mount though, Nicki will make the next one...but won't be sporting any of the gear she bought last Friday

Bad points:

The food was average (mixed grill) or appalling (roast chicken), which took too long to come out. An hour wait for food, when it's not a Sunday lunchtime is appalling.

The food counter was slow, the bar was even slower.

Good points:

Nice big car park, clean facilities, friendly staff, easy to get to (if you can count roundabouts ).

The biggest saving grace was the company!

Wat forward:

Maybe warning them that we are turning up will help??
Or try another pub??

OK, gonna come clean and say I purposely did not phone them, just so we could see what a worst case scenario would be like. sorry to inflict it upon you, not nice am I

Think I will contact them, and mention we're planning another one there, so might want to have more staff/cooks on hand to deal with it.

Food was OK, didn't take too long, but I was one of the first few to order.

Nice and easy to get to and find!

Pub was nice.
Food was OK.
Would like to see what the services is like when we warn them we're coming!!
It's does have a kids area (even if they don't stay in there)

Prefer the drive to the Woodman

Let's be honest, the food is *NOT* as good as The Woodsman, or quite a few pubs I've been to!

To be honest when you have to queue up for about 5-10 minutes for food and about 10-15 minutes at the bar (and then get refered to as 'that lot' when the barman asks who was next to the barmaid!) is not brilliant!

I'll reserve my will/will not visit again opinion until I've been there again!

Giving both the pub and Markus a second chance!!

Its much better there on a Thursday, that I can vouch for.

Personally the pub has much better facilities and a really nice road to test the cars on, well thats if they dont break down !!!

Can we not alternate between Thursdays here and Fridays at the Woodman, should keep all happy.

Dyney - you refering to my little monster !!! She wouldnt come out of the play area, well until she couldnt see us. It was rather embarassing collecting her from a member of staff, even though she didnt want to let her go !!!!

Rule no 1 - take your eyes off em for 1 minute etc etc !!!!

Anyway, I think Mark wanted this to fail is the real reason he didn't call ahead . Tough luck mate, you should be happy with the turnout!

Kinda true actually, but gimme a second chance, I will talk to the pub and see what they can do to accomodate us, and I think the next one WILL be on a Thursday.
