Prodrive P1 Lowering Springs - Rare Purchase opportunity.
#484
Just bought a used Prodrive suspension on eBay to fit to my RB5 and need
advice please on the right replacement P1 springs to fit.
Prodrive Bilstein Strut refs are:
Front LH 20310FA990 (814426 M100), RH 20310FA980 (1898VE2 4262M1)
Rears LH 20360FA990 (1998VE3 4263M3), RH 20360FA980 (1998VE3 4264M3)
Eibach Spring refs are
Fronts 19/98 20330 FA890, Rears 17/98 20380 FA890
Does that make this equivalent to the WR 97/98 Soft setup (replacement P11Ls)?
Also what do you advise re front/rear ARBs and bumpstops for fast road use.
Cheers

I haven't installed my P11L yet, but with spring around the corner, and my 2 blown rear struts it's a must to install now.
Anyone have the P11L + kyb excel gs + wagon combo have butt sag?

Thanks for the picture 2Pot. I remember reading that I should keep my factory ver4 STi wagon front/rear bars with this spring? Do you know the size off hand?
Also is it recommended to change the strut mounts as well?

WR15R/T Purchace Inquiry
I have noticed that this thread has been active for a while now, I was wondering if there are any WR15R/T springs still available to purchase.
If so what route should I take and who can I get in contact with to setup a transaction?

WR15R/T Pictures
I am very excited to have these springs, shipping was very quick from the UK to California. I am waiting for KYB AGX shocks to arrive so I can install them at the same time.
For the meantime here are some photos

WR15 R/T
And with WR15 R/T.
And front fender gap, approx. from hub.
And after. The rear pic was to shaky to post. Will have to wait another day. Both sets were done with a bit more than 3/4ths full petrol. The lowering isn't dramatic, but noticeable. Very pleased with the handling. Thanks 2pot.

P11Ls + Bilsteins on full fuel tank.
Ride height (wheel centre to arch) approx 341 front, 348 rear.
Ride quality firm but much better at dealing with back roads than the rock hard grey 890 springs I had on previously. Low speed ride still a bit jiggly around town but maybe getting the Bilsteins serviced and new bump stops installed might improve it further?
Well pleased with the result; thanks chaps!
Did you sell all the springs in the end?

There are 2 sets of P11L's left, from the original batch.
More due late November.
Your Bilstein struts are, slightly, over-damped, with the P11L's.
I don't think I'd go to the extra expense of changing the damping curve, until a strut fails. I might be more inclined, if the dampers have done more than 60k.
Many thanks for pic, measurements and fuel level - helps a lot to see how the differing static gas pressures, of the various dampers, effect ride heights.

WR15R/T's are lower and stiffer - similar rates to the v6sti, with more forward rake.
The car pictured below has wr15/kyb agx + 205/55 16 (same od as 215/40 18)
The wr15's will need agx, koni inserts or subaru inverted.
Subaru inverted have a higher static gas pressure, so sit 5mmish higher.
The P11L's have more height variation on the rear (softer spring rate) - a full to empty tank, on P11L, is a 10mm rear ride-height difference.
Below: P11L/excel-g + 215/45 17 (same od as 215/40 18) full tank
Below: P11L/Subaru inverted struts + 225/35 18
The lens used is wide angle, so it distorts the arch gaps - giving an exaggerated idea of increased ride-height (5mmish) due to higher static gas pressure from new inverted struts and 10mm smaller tyre od, than those above.
