Rotating the inlet manifold
Does rotating the inlet manifold make any difference to performance or is it really just looks better and make the bay look a little more tidy?

Think the real advantage is actually in packaging, rather than performance. Rotating the throttle body frees up a hell of a lot of space that would've been filled with pipe work.

It does make more space in the bay mate, but that does not answer the OP question, which was "does it give more power"and to answer that question simply "it does not!"I have it done on my car strictly for cosmetic purposes and engine bay layout, because I had plans for fitting different components and making it easier to free up more room in my engine bay for fuel swirl pot, catch can etc etc etc...SJ.

I've considered this for a while, so I searched through images on Google for some inspiration for the pipework routing and it seems some have managed to leave the alternator and aircon in position.
Anyone have any ideas as to how they've done it?
I was thinking set the alternator as low as possible and find a suitable belt, then use manifold spacers?
Or would there still not be enough room?
I will only do it if I can keep the aircon.

Thanks mateI had it done by my enginebuilder.Once you rotate the inlet it comes down to measuring and re-measuring fit and refit until you get the positioning of the pipework and other ancillaries perfect,If you have the time and patients you can get it fitted how you like as long as you work out where every other part is going to fit first without fouling and still function properly, that's why I said you have to know exactly why you want to rotate the inlet manifold as you are going to get zero performance gains from doing it,but it does clean up the look and free up space in the engine bay.SJ.

Agree purely for looks, no gains to be had otherwise I would have done it, but for the work involved just for looks, I wasn't bothered.
Plus I think I'd have to use another inlet manifold as my icv will foul the bonnet on the v5 inlet so haven't bothered.
Does look boss though coupled with a rotated turbo, it's the standard procedure look.
