2002 wrx project
Hi all bought my car in April 2015 for the bargain price of £900. Had 13 owners 139000 miles dodgy mods etc, but didn't bother me as knew it was going to be a hobby for me. Looked at plenty of cars at the time with majority of them being rotten and decided I would look for a solid shell an not worry bout the other stuff, so this one came up and was up for £1200 a bit of haggling and drove away with a bargain.
Little did I know at the time how addictive modifying these cars is .
You can see by pics it had a front mount at some point in its life by the butchered front bumper. Also had a classic bottom end with Newage heads. Classic intercooler and 1 classic front hub I found out as thers no hole for abs sensor

So drove it around as it was whilst gathering parts til November when engine decided to crap itself.
Meantime bought some gt headers ported and heat wrapped
Trick uppipe
Ported vf35
Pink injectors
Then got it all fitted to a widetrack sti engine supplied and fitted at pole position, mapped and avcs connected to an sti ecu by Andrew carr 3 port boost solenoid also added
Never dynod but Andrew reckoned around 340-350 with the set up on car. 1.3bar was coming up just before 3k with peak of 1.5 . Trick uppipe ported turbo and ported headers working very well

Next up decided I wanted bit more power so bought used md321h and some 650cc RCM injectors and a big air filter so another trip to pole position for six speed box, flywheel,& clutch and fitting of turbo and injectors.
Andrew Carr tweaked map and fitted launch control now getting 1.5 bar at 3500rpm with 1.6 peak as still running standard uk sti 2.0 engine.
Now feels like a different car the turbo pulls much harder all the way thru the revs compared to the vf35

Also fitted are v7 sti seats, widetrack hawk doorcards , alloy rad, a 3" straight through exhaust full decat open mouth at turbo end, no resonators apart from back box so sounds quiet cruising but nice when at full chat. Kept my grey carpet as I like it better than blue sti carpet

Second hand Parallel fuel lines and pressure regulator supplied by pole position, fitted by me. I couldn't get injectors to seal so bought new o rings from RCM, broke seals again and ended up gettin the lads at PP to fetch my car and fix my fuel leaks.
Turns out I needed washers to space the fuel rails

So that's how it is at moment, most parts supplied by POLE POSITION
Big thanks to Sha, Ian and Jez at pole position for going out their way to help with building it to where it is now, also thanks to Andrew Carr for mapping

Got some blue samco rad hoses cheap so fitted them and also got another powder coated alternator from Dubzy.
Also bought some flanges and a bit of pipe for £20 to have a go at rotating my turbo. Worst case if it don't work is I buy another downpipe
I pinched this pic off here of another lads rotated adaptor (Chris)<br/>hopefully I can copy it u get the idea

So took it out for little blast last night after fitting new battery and ran faultless for good 40 mins of driving. Pulled up at home and it cut out, tried starting agen an stink of fuel but not starting.
Opened bonnet and the feed pipe from tank , rubber has split underneath the stainless braiding so ordered a new piece from torques. Should be a quick easy fix with new hose, all other braided fuel hoses to be checked for perishing this weekend as they were second hand anyway

Wow, I feel sorry for that poor car. The state of it when you bought it. Good work on turning it around. It's looking really good.
Why would anyone fit a classic intercooler over a stock WRX cooler? Surely the WRX intercooler is bigger?
Oh... and can I suggest you take a break from buying shiny bits and buy some decent tyres. All those mods and you're running Fullway tyres?
