not what is happening outside your window at that current moment

well the science is pretty simple and pretty clear

C02 is a greenhouse gas, more of it will cause the earths climate to trap more heat - this is basic physics and has been known for over a hundred years

attributing any single weather event to AGW / Climate change is obviously tricky due to the enormous inherent natural variability of the climate, other factors are involved - natural oscillations in climate, the sun, aerosols, volcanic eruptions etc etc etc

but the basic theory predicts drier regions will get drier, wetter regions will get wetter, winters will warm more than summers, nights will warm faster than days, the Northern Hemisphere will warm faster than the SH and finally the Arctic will warm fastest of all the regions, - and that is what the DATA shows (unless it is all a conspiracy!!!!!)

The overall increase in the earths global average temperature is attributable to the increase in CO2 - and humans have caused this increase in CO2

yes we had an unusually hot summer - did the rest of Europe, did Asia, did the Southern Hemisphere, did Australia? what about South America?

it is called Global Warming/Climate change for a reason

in 2010 we had one of the harshest winters I can remember - my car temp gauge did not break above freezing for about 3 months

yet 2010 was one of the warmest years for the planet in the Global temperature record

what about them - they all play a part in the natural variation of the climate

some to a large extent i,e the Sun, some to a lesser extent

the Sun is the major driver over the long term (in Geological timeframes) - every single climate scientists agrees with this


but it can't explain the recent warming - because solar activity measured by something called TSI (Total Solar Irradiance) has been flat or slightly falling over the last 30 odd years

I made a post a few years ago about the fact that it took 3 or 4 weeks of fighting in France (in 1944) for the combat causalities to overtake casualties (accidents etc) encountered in the training for the invasion

I still remember being told by so-called climate scientists, on TV, that the French Med coast would be desert and the UK south coast of Mediterranean climate by 2015.

The SELF-SAME scientists who fed us all bullsh!t about the impending ice age in the late 70's...YOU know, the one from which only 30% of the world's population woukld survive?

ok, your peddling global cooling myth

there was a period of global cooling in the 60/70's - mainly due to the excessive industrial pollution

a few scientist thought that it was a cause for concern - and it made headline in the papers etc

but the overwhelming majority of scientists were warning of warming due to the increase in CO2 - which by now was known to be a green house gas

Who died in camp after a squadded run, with full medical and vehicle support, and the run was first thing in the morning started about 0700 hrs, temperatures about 16/18 max. A very tragic accident and my thoughts are with his family.

And we have left Basrah but have soldiers deployed up country in a training role, so hotter again

43c when I got in the car yesterday. I do worry a bit when the missus is out doing bootcamp exercise classes in this heat but she drinks lots of water (not too much, mind).

I'll take a hot as f@ck day over a cold one, that's for sure.

I'll admit, wearing a full suit in 40+ degrees can get a little uncomfortable - I can't imagine what it'd be like in 54c!
