Default 5 speed gearbox reinforcing plates

As discussed in the earlier thread I have 4 sets available. Similar design to the moore plates (blast plates) but at a more competitive price. I personally test fit every set on a gearbox. Come with everything required and even instructions with relevant torque settings. I have a few photos of the first batch of 10 that were made.

Not personally as yet. We are fitting them to a a 440 bhp Sprint car with a dog box. It's managed to eat two gearsets on its last season. We have taken cad drawings of the Moore version and made a quality plate with better welds and folded properly. You are welcome to my set of Moore plates for the same price. I'm taking them off to replace them with my own. Side by side they are identical bar the difference in quality.

You need to remove the prop and drop the rear of the gearbox to allow the bolts in. Troublesome but not major.

We are testing them on Two cars both used in sprints. My car is early 300 bhp and also used on the road but the race car is mid 400 with a dog gearbox. The race car takes serious punishment often beating cars with way more horsepower. If it can complete a season without damaging the gearset that will be a result. Both gearboxes are freshly rebuilt with new main shaft and diff bearings. If your gearbox is tired and ready to vomit these wont fix it.
They fit both 752 and 754 boxes and would imagine would also fit the Forester. If you bought some and they didn't fit I'd take them back without issue. They are 5mm plate steel backplates plus the reinforcing sections replicating the originals.
I have unwittingly sold the set I had for my own car so someone will have a set with a slightly different finish than shown as I used different paint.
I have materials for 6 more sets so 5 will be available over the weekend. If demand is there I can do some more but hadn't really planned to. Very much a spare time thing.

If you want a set buy them or stop moaning and nit picking. Any thing that helps strengthen the casing has to help you have been twisting from the start of the thread. If I was the OP you wouldn't be getting a set.

Twisting!!! I doubt that very much. what asking what hes rating the strenth of them power wise on a (STANDARD NON BUILT) 5 speed wich is what the other sn member is asking. An im right to say that they havent been tested on a non built box wich is what hes asking. I told the op i was asking a question not picking and yes i am interested and its a good job your not selling them then aint it

That's right good job I'm not selling them. What you are asking is how long is a piece of string and as stated before anything that helps.

Do you wanna know the only real way to test it? Purchase a good number (at least 10) brand new complete boxes from Subaru. Fit plates to half of them and not to the other half. Then increase the bhp and torque and level of abuse on them all equally until they all fail this would have to be on some sort of automated rig. Then take an average.

Sound expensive? You bet. It's not going to happen is it.

As I said in the other thread if you fit these and your box lasts at 350ft/lb for another 50'000miles whats to say it wouldn't have done without them? Or maybe it would have gone pop straight away and they worked? Or it goes pop 1000miles later. Maybe it was too far worn already? Etc etc etc far too many variables. The OP cannot prove they work. It's a theory backed up by logic and I am willing to try for £160.

Received Look well built and like a good deal to me Quick delivery too. I will be fitting mine to a box that has been removed from the car. I just have to degrease the box and clean it up a bit then will whack them on.
