I'd say as he hasn't done what was asked he should travel to you in this instance. It's not right to over charge and take money for something that's not right then expect you to take holiday etc to sort it.... it should have been done right first time
No witch hunt is necessary, but I do think this is a proper solution given all that has been said.
Re-plumbed the vac pipes to the 3 port boost solenoid and found this on one of the pipes.
When Andrew was fitting these he was using a pair of pliers to get them on while I was stood there watching and cringing. Personally I'd never use pliers to hold silicone hoses. He managed to damage this pipe on first attempt with the pliers and had to cut the end off and try again. Looks like he did the same 2nd time around too without realising.
So I've now replaced them all and I'm happy they are all fitted well. I'm unable to test drive the car as the kids are in bed and I'm the only one home. Poop. Fingers crossed this fixed it. Although this must have been like this during mapping so I'm not sure if fixing this will affect the mapped boost in any way. I'll do some more data logging if I can and check this if possible myself.

Still nowt from Andrew. Very disappointing.
My suspicion was correct!! It'll drive bang on now bro as the map is put on and tweeked up I'm sure he can spare a bit of time to come to you and check things over and keep up to his name & reputation I hope....
Ere sir brown pants no pics!!!
I doubt I'll see Andrew again now I think I've found the issue. Doubt he'll travel this far south to check my car to be honest. Maybe next year when I've got some more holiday to use I can travel back to him for check and tweak. After all, I still have credit with either him or Pole Position, whoever over-charged me for the map!
Still not fixed. Absolutely no difference. The repair of the boost solenoid pipework has made no difference at all.
I did another power run this morning in 3rd gear on the way to work with exactly the same results. Fuel cut at 55mph and 5krpm in exactly the same way as before. Just after the ECU detected and adjusted the FLKC table "Fine Learning Knock Correction".
Data capture attached.
So annoyed. I was really hoping the fix to the pipe had sorted this.
My dyno plot for this run shows a massive 270bhp at 5krpm. Woop. Couldn't be more disappointed right now.
Have emailed everything to Andrew yet again. I know he's at Pole Position again today so I'm going to ring them again this morning to see if I can get hold of him.
Waiting for Pole Position to call me back. Already talked to them this morning expressing my concerns. Andrew is there today and they told me he looked at the file I sent a couple of weeks ago last night and was going to email me tonight or tomorrow night if he could.
I really don't want my car re-mapped remotely. The suggestion was for him to send me a cable and the new file to blow myself. Don't like the idea of the mapper not driving my car to confirm the map change (if needed).

I feel your frustration, been there with similar issues, not map related though.
I don't understand why you're being treated this way by someone who has a very good reputation for service and skill.
It's all very well and good telling your customers that 'I'm very busy', but what happened to first come first served? And particularly if you had what seems to be a fairly cursory session initially.
I have done some remote map updates with Duncan where he sent an updated file for my Syvecs, but that was for very minor stuff like a change in L/C rpm. I wouldn't be at all happy doing this sort of thing with a potentially serious issue with the fueling system.
I would tend to agree with the comment above, call it quits and get someone who is actually going to be interested in the job.

know pole position have a great reputation but Andy on the other hand not sure about his reputation anymore when it comes to customer service
Andrew has now emailed me back this afternoon. I need to do some more data logging and send some more info to him as I left a field out before that could have been of use.
On the up side, he has offered to refund me the amount I was over-charged now which is good. That's certainly a start.
As said above though, I'm not comfortable with map changes without the mapper seeing and testing the car. Will see where this leads.

Very surprised the fanboys are quiet on this one.... NOT take 53's advice bro b4 the sour experience turns into a bitter one IMO
I'm not jumping ship just yet. I'll see how this is handled first and see where it goes. I like to give everyone a chance wherever possible. Nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. It's how you deal with those mistakes and problems that really counts. So far it's not been great in my experience, but I'm happy (and hoping) to be proved wrong.
All gone quiet again on the Andrew Carr front, despite my trying.
So to try and data log to capture the event I purchased a new ECU comms cable, USB adaptor cable and paid for an android app. The app (btssm) would only work on my android phone but still wouldn't let me capture barometric pressure as it wasn't an option in the software. Andrew keeps telling me I need to capture this data too, but I can't, so it looks like I've wasted yet more money buying these bits to help him diagnose the fault.
To top it all off, my HTC phone has now completely died and this was the only thing I have that can run the app and equipment I purchased. So I can't even do any more data logging for Andrew.
I'm stuck now. Have asked Andrew if there is any alternative I can use with my laptop instead, but still haven't had a reply.
My car was mapped a month ago now and still isn't right. It even cut out on me while overtaking someone at low revs this weekend, which was scary to say the least!

I honestly feel for you bro and know exactly what your going through I'd even say it's pretty irresponsibl and inconsiderate on Andrews side he should have atleast given you a sympathetic callback but he's probably busy mapping other customers that are more important than you 4weeks try 3months for a text back then no communications regardless now I go to a mapper who's local and knows what he's doing I only wanted a 3port installing and some pops and bangs didn't want it done for free FFS! But still no response what do ever then Ant the mapper checked my car and sorted it for £50
Thanks mate, I may take you up on the offer and pop round if I can't sort something else out. Trying to revive another old dead HTC phone my wife used to use tonight and will see if that works.
However, Andrew is asking me to log a field that just isn't possible on the software I've purchased under his advice so it may all be pointless anyhow. Really don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for the offer though, I'll let you know. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the tip Don. Seems to work with my ECU and cable just fine, however it doesn't log info or save files in any way. It will only give you min and max values with no way of saving other than a screen shot for some reason. Looks nice though.
Downloaded Romraider last night on the laptop as it also has a logger function. Looks like a nice bit of software but I don't think it will work with my KKL cable having tried to use it this morning. I may need to splash out £140+ shipping for the Tactrix 2.0 cable which I don't like the thought of.
Tell me about it. Still nothing from Andrew. Chased him again this week and been ignored again. Hasn't replied since the 16th and that was a very short reply asking to log something that isn't possible. After a few replies and questions back from me it all went dead again.
I may investigate a full refund now as it's been a whole month gone since the map. I've had enough.
Finally some progress. Just spoken to Pole Position (very helpful like always, nice bunch up there) and they were discussing options with Andrew whilst I was on the phone. He's agreed to go have a look at my car on a Saturday to resolve the issues. This is great as I used my last days holiday to get it mapped. He doesn't work Saturdays but is going to travel to meet me so we can get this sorted finally.

Tell me about it. Straight after I talked to Pole Position and Andrew I gave him a choice of 5 weekends this month and next I can do. Not heard back since. Typical.
