A phone with far more tech than a IPhone 7 plus (try £1000).

Anyway, what is your point? All premium products or flagship products are expensive. At least with Smasung they offer some real usable tech that is passed to consumers (much larger batteries, fast and wireless charge, sd card support, superior OLED displays, better IP rating with the ability to save the hundreds of millions of 3.5" headphones in the world....

Its just that the iPhones are for the most part are outdated, over priced and all that lovely tax free money they earn is not passed onto consumers but just lining the pockets of shareholders.

For fanboys (not saying you are), the truth hurts but there is a reason why most people in the world dont use iPhones.

They are flagged off to be superior and the best you can get.

Only in the eyes of fanboys is that the case.

Ok let's start with the price, the 7 plus starts at £719 and is made from far nicer materials than the Samsung.

As for usable tech, I'll conceed that having SD card support is nice but in the real world (to the average user) the bulk of the differences are academic. It all comes down to user preference, you pays your money you takes your choice.

The camera bulge not being glued on is a nice touch, lots more milling involved, expensive.

Dont know any discerning camera bulge on my Note 5, I am sure the Note 7 will be even less so.

Consumers want for the most part a few things when they look for new gadgets, when it comes to mobile phones the main things are

Displays - Apple are behind the times on this and have done funk all in this department

Batterys - ditto
All the rivals have much larger batteries that power much better displays and offer faster charging, wireless charging and most offer some advanced power saving modes. All really useful features that is knocked back to the consumer.

Look and feel -
Apple have hardly changed the aesthetics from the iphone at all, it still uses photo frames with a huge bezel while all the Android manufacturers have edge to edge displays, curved screens, glass casings and far more exciting designs.

The USB is another case in point where Apple and its shareholders are laughing in the face of the fanboys.

USB is powering most devcies on the planet, the different incarnations of USB offer useful features again passed to the consumers like faster data transfer & higher charging currrents.

Apple of course dont use USB and the only benefits of lightning and whatever monstrosity connector they used before that as far as I can see is that it is Apple proprietary and all the proceeds of these chargers go back into the shareholders bank acounts.

Thankfully, most people on the planet have sense and avoid Apple like the plague.

https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/18/ga...it-86-2-in-q2/

Almost 90% market share tells its own story.

Jack is amongst a very unique club here.

Oh great, the "Android has a greater market share" argument has been trotted out again. I call fandroid bingo.

Incidentally you know every Apple device comes with an Apple-USB lead right?

Definitely has a bit stuck on the camera, also has a fluff blocker. Looks a lot like an iPhone.

People go on about Android like its the dogs bollocks so I figured I'd try it out and the HTC m8 appeared to do everything my old iPhone did. After two and a bit years I have to say it does the and has some nice features but overall as a package it simply doesn't have the polish the iPhone does.

apart from curved edges, glass casing, 3.5" audio jack, USB connector, curved OLED display and a 'free' stylus attached.

yeah, looks very similar to an iPhone.

Only a few more days until the embargo is over and the fandroid's get really salty.

I'm hearing that the display is the best smartphone display ever, that's a bold claim, the same was claimed for the processor and that was true so I'm going to bake up an extra batch of custard pie.

Great thread not had so much to read on SN in ages. Anyway I thought as people seem to like graphs and stuff I would post a pic of my battery charge screen on my Android 6 Phone.

That's nothing, if you want to see some real big numbers what you need to do is charge it twice a day but not fully, massive numbers, massive.

Jack, I am whipping you about here like a wet fish.

You are living in a cloud somewhere, along with the other minority of users who are brainwashed by Apple.

The rest of us are in the real world.

Apple are as innovative as a potato sack, I have an old Huawei G510 relic phone to tide me over as I sold my Note 5. I noticed the haptic button that Apple are raving about seems to be integrated into the LCD display of this also.

Like I said, making mugs of people like you and their shareholders are probably drinking a toast to you now.

only Apple can flog off a 'new' model like this.

And only Apple can make idiots of fanboys declaring the need to omit the 3.5" Jack to meet IP compliance, and ramble on about lack of real estate space and other BS.

Strangely enough Samsung can meet and exceed that IP rating and they have even less space to work with as they use advanced AMOLED displays thar take up the entire bezel, and have batteries of 3,500mAh also, not to mention power saving circuitry and they can even squeeze in a 3.5" Jack in there also.

Have a read of this Jack too, I can send some face cloths if you send me your address so to clean your face from all that pie

Did anyone figure out if Toffee Pie is actually a former member? This is really starting to look like a bit of a bromance.

I thought so until chargegate, someone that challenged would be obvious.

I do feel he's repressed so perhaps unrequited bromance is what's keeping him going.

Jack, whats the address for face cloths, you keep popping back here.

Would you like them in black, or jet black. Only Apple can do two shades of black you know.

His posting history is a bit of a laugh, you have to go back 4 pages before you get any variety.

On that note I have to ask. Mr Pie, what on earth are you on? You seem to have spent most of your time on here bashing Apple for no real reason.

I suggest you read the posts again.

take your time. My bet is you are all too dumb to understand anything.

The whole point is Apple are not inventive, creative nor do they offer customers any value for money. ~1K for the top of the range iPhone 7 plus... hello. This is how Apple think of their customers.

idiots.

If you open your eyes go onto google and you will see plenty reports, like ones I posted up here.

Apple give nothing back to the consumer, the fanboys are blind and idiots.

The 'new' iPhone 7.....go buy an iPhone 6 and save your money.

Apple are behind the times and in decline, I suppose you Neil-H and Jack here never even seen my posts about Apple and the declining sales, across the entire board pretty much.

Drastic means causes drastic measures, like dropping the audio jack.

Neil, since you seem to love Apple so much it says it all that you dont even own one

Ironic, you are like almost everyone else on the planet who avoids Apple like the plague.

I rode to a friends house to print something this evening. They too had an old printer and like yours it wasn't available on my phone. Had to use Air Sharing which worked a treat, but was at least 2 more button presses.

Androids charge faster, last longer and have larger batteries. FACT.
Plus they have Wireless charging, at least with Samsung.

an improved camera with optical image stabilisation on the iPhone 7
two improved cameras with enhanced optical zoom and control over depth of field on the iPhone 7 Plus (it already had, and continues to have, optical image stablisation)
- The same OIS on an old Galaxy Note 4? and the same dept of field images i took and shared here with my prevous note 5.?

next......

better haptic feedback
- cheer! maybe haptic feedback is new to IPhone users

better waterproofing
- but not as good as Samsung, but they need to take out the 3.5" Audio Jack to meet IP compliance right. Lets not mention (again) the wizardry Samsung use to achieve higher IP compliance with much more constraints to deal with, and keeping that nasty ugly 3.5" jack to boot.

And the iPhone 7 is splash resistant not waterproof, which ridicules everything Apple are saying in the first place.

Apple Customer: I purchased an iPhone 7 yesterday, I had to receive a call outside while there was light rain, now the phone doesn't work. I thought it was supposed to be splash proof!

Apple Agent: Sorry to hear that you are having problems with you new iPhone. You are correct, the iPhone 7 is indeed splash proof. Let me see what I can do for you.

Apple Customer: Great...... so as the phone is brand new, I've only had it one day, and still under warranty, can you send me a new one or get this one fixed?

Apple Agent: Let me check that for you............... No, sorry sir, your warranty does not cover water damage.

Apple Customer: What??!??!??........... The phone is supposed to be splash proof??!??!??.............. It got a tiny bit wet in the rain, now it doesn't work and you wont do anything to help me. Even though the phone is sold as being splash proof??!??!??

Apple Agent: Sorry sir, Apple does not cover water damage under warranty.

Apple Customer: So your telling me that even though the phone is sold as being splash proof, you will not fix it or replace it under warranty as the warranty does not cover water damage??!??!??

Apple Agent: Yes sir, that is correct.

Apple Customer: I feel cheated, I thought Apple had my back. How wrong could I have been. Very upset right now. Good bye.
