In any event the battery performance of the latest Galaxy phones makes a mockery of Apple, with the 2 hours 'extended' use (on a battery almost half the gravemetric density of what a S7 or Note 5/7 has at that)

Well, I actually work in compliance, regulation and certification and for a fact know this is most likely absolute b0llocks, which would be nothing new from Apple.

How come the Galaxy Note 7 has a higher IP rating and retains use of said Audio Jack? Why not pull the lightning port also for IP rating and single out a solitary port beside it.

Would it not be more correct to just be upfront and say they removed it to further line the pockets of their shareholders (aside from the 0.005% tax rate, this for sure will help their marging along swimmingly)

The iPhone 7 plus would also be an ideal candidate to at least have wireless charging or fast charging and a power saving feature that doesnt make idiots of people saying it lasts 2 hours longer than previously to make use of the extra battery life sapped from said bluetooth headphones. if reports are correct, then the iPhone 7 plus has a battery 700mAh smaller than what is in the Galaxy Note 7, which has wireless charging standard plus extended power saving modes to last much longer than 2 hours.

Before Jack or yourself harp on about the Note 7 battery, yes its terrible and yes Samsung have done a recall, Chinese Note 7s are not effected and people will buy the note 7 when its back on the shelves, rest assured.

~£1000, thats the price a 256GB iPhone 7 plus will set back fanboy suckers.

2 x 128GB Nand flash is about $10, for the guts of £1k I would at least expect a diaplay better than a 750p relic display and would demand a format of fast charging / inductive charging (as explained above).

Not really, USB C (3.1) is just a new USB standard, it would make sense for Samsung to offer the latest USB socket in their flagship product and it offers faster charging too and is reversible, besides it is not anything new and was developed a few years ago but its just now we will be seeing it introducted to devices.

The USB C is just on going progression to the latest standard, I would expect all decent high end androids to have USB C in the coming months and years.

They also can stick a 3.5" Jack next to the USB C and have a higher IP rating over what is on the iPhone 7. Keeping in mind they have even less real estate to work with than Apple (larger bateries, edge to edge display) - Who of course took off this audio Jack 'out of necessity' - (necessity to rip people off in other words and accept all their fans are dumb).
