2009 Subaru 330S Sti (Forged, AP's, Owens)
I purchased this car in June 2014 with a fresh forged build and it has been utterly reliable and I have enjoyed every minute of it since. I genuinely never thought I would sell this car, I had intended to just gradually upgrade everything when the standard components wore out and build it into a track toy. However, I have just found out that I will shortly be working overseas for a year and it doesn’t seem right to put this into storage. Better that someone else enjoys it in the meantime and I will definitely be getting another when come back.
I am meticulous with my cars and I replace things at the first sign of wear, I also change the oil far more frequently than the manufacturer recommends with only Millers 10W-50 full synthetic oil at approx. every 5,000 miles (the longest between changes was 7500 miles). All maintenance (post forging) carried out at Keith Price Subaru in Abergavenny and handling mods by AST in Cheltenham. Both of which would be able to vouch for this car’s recent history.

Current mileage: 102,000 (but please note engine was forged at 74000 miles, and still in use so will go up a little).
Exterior:
Midnight blue - looks black, until you see it next to a black car. Has a nice blue pearlescence in sunlight.
Looks totally standard apart from:
18” Prodrive alloys (see below)
Clear rear fog cluster and red vinyl overlays
De-tangoed front indicators and L.E.D side light bulbs
Interior:
Usual 330S spec of:
Keyless entry
Push button start
Sat nav - with original discs and a recent mapping update disc (non-orginal)
The gorgeous Recaro bucket seats
Parrot Bluetooth kit
Engine:
The previous owner to me bought this car from Graham Walker in Cheshire but the engine failed
a short time later. It was therefore sent locally to Gaz at CPP Motor Developments for engine machining and a full rebuild in September 2013. Now CPP have an awesome reputation in the evo world but he doesn’t do many Subaru’s (I spoke to Gaz at length before I bought this car). Gaz sought advice from Oli at RCM before building to the following spec:
Re-bore cylinder block to new pistons
New STi heat treated crank
ACL race bearings
Steel rods (unsure of brand, not on the invoice but I will endeavour to find out if necessary)
Mahle .25 O/S forged pistons and rings (motorsport version grade 2618 not the cheaper ones!)
Sti gasket & seal kit
New cam belt
New oil pick up
11mm head studs
Cosworth oil baffle
New battery and other miscellaneous items
K Sport 8 pot 355mm brake kit
Total invoice £6528
Then November 2013 the car was back to CPP after running in for the following:
Owen Developments TD05-20g billet turbo (68 HTA compressor wheel)
Samco inlet MAF to turbo
1st and 2nd decat pipes (Scorpion)
DW65C up rated fuel pump
3 port solenoid
Oil and filter
Remapped ECUTEK by Paul Blamire of Zen Performance
Total invoice £3447
Mapped on 99ron fuel and only ever been run on V-Power or Momentum.
Brakes:
Front: AP Racing 6 pot callipers with 355mm grooved discs and Ferrodo DS2500 pads fitted 21/01/2015. (I ditched the K Sport because they kept binding due to crap seals). Godspeed £1530
Rear: Standard black sti callipers with Ferrodo DS2500 pads (Aug 2014).
Wheels:
Pro-drive GT1 alloys 18” x 8.5” in gunmetal in original mint condition. One had a small scuff and this was recently professionally colour matched and blended in.
McGard locking wheel nuts
Tyres (245/40/18):
Front: Brand new Michelin Pilot super sport (Extra load) (fitted 25/07/16)
Rear: Michelin Super Sport (Extra load) 5.0mm
Exhaust:
Full scorpion decat with the standard 330S Prodrive exhaust. Sounds nice and deep, you can hear the turbo whistling, but not loud. Car will be supplied with the original catted downpipe for MOT time!
Suspension:
Standard STI dampers and springs
Whiteline Handling pack fitted by AST Cheltenham (includes rear sub frame bush inserts, front arm bushes, upgraded rear anti roll bar, front strut tower brace, anti lift castor kit, steering rack bushes and power steering mod) - £860 – May 2015. (This transformed the standard handling!)

I work abroad a lot so this car has mainly been driven by my wife and its had a real easy life. Mainly school run and shopping trips. It gets the occasional spirited weekend drive but it’s not very often I haven’t got a little one on board. I have done one track day in Nov 2015 and the car was faultless. Because it is our daily driver it was treated very gently and the beauty of the 2.5 torque means you don’t have to thrash it to make progress.
Do not be put off by the high mileage this car has a fresh engine and drives like it's done a fraction of the miles.
Oil consumption is normal for a forged 2.5. I always buy 6 litres of Millers at a time. 5 for the oil change and 1 litre for top ups. I have never used more than 1 litre between oil changes (therefore less than 1 ltr per 5,000 miles.) Far less than any of my previous imprezas. Apparently this would drop further with an Air Oil Separator which was on my to-do list.
I have not had a rolling road power run, it was mapped on the road. I would estimate it to be running around 360 bhp. The turbo is good for more but the breathing and fuel pump would need upgrading further. I have a full 3” Milltek turbo back with sport cat and a Mishimoto CAIK that I was going to fit, along with a 340 lph fuel pump this should give close to 400 bhp. I had been in discussions with Bob Rawle for a remap but obviously my circumstances have now changed.
Bad Points:
1. The car has a very very slight oil leak. It is between the engine and gearbox and would need the engine out to fix and I was advised it simply isn’t worth it. It’s monitored closely and checked at every oil change and hasn’t got any worse in the last 18 months. There are no drips on the floor, no smoke, and oil consumption is normal. I was waiting until I needed the engine out to fix it. (I was considering getting the block pinned to go over 400 bhp).
2. The paintwork in places is a little scruffy on close inspection. Mechanically I’m fastidious with my cars but I have to be honest, with my work, I do not have time to spend hours polishing it at the weekend. It gets washed regularly with the two bucket method but it has also been through car washes/jet washes. There are no rust spots or dents but there are swirl marks, and tiny superficial scratches. Having said that nothing that a good detailer can't fix and I will try and get this done in the next week or two for any prospective viewings.
3. A little wear to the drivers seat bolster.

Mishimoto CAIK in red crinkle finish (SOLD)
Prodrive GT1 alloys in gold. Good condition, no kerbing, but the paint is starting to flake. Complete with Nokian WR1 winter tyres (all with at least 5.0mm) -
Full 3” Miltek turbo back with sport cat (downpipe brand new never fitted, the remainder is used but in very good condition and complete with brand new Mikalor clamps and fitting kit.
Thule black wing bars with twin Atera bike racks (the type for quick release wheels and secures to the front fork. Perfect condition, used twice only.
Rallytech stainless bolt kit and battery rods with blue anodised washers (brand new never fitted) SOLD

There was a lovely, clean-looking Litchfield T20 hatch listed on PH for quite some time at £16,500. That had a brand new engine build, new turbo, over 400bhp, only 40k miles on the clock, and obviously the stronger 2.0L engine.
In light of the mileage and issues with your car, I would say it is very optimistically priced at £15k.
However, it does look very clean, and I hope you get what you want for it.
There was a lovely, clean-looking Litchfield T20 hatch listed on PH for quite some time at £16,500. That had a brand new engine build, new turbo, over 400bhp, only 40k miles on the clock, and obviously the stronger 2.0L engine.
In light of the mileage and issues with your car, I would say it is very optimistically priced at £15k.
However, it does look very clean, and I hope you get what you want for it.

Yes mate. It's difficult to gauge the market value of modded Imprezas. Somebody might buy your car for £15k. It has some nice mods, but unfortunately mods rarely add much value to a car, and even forged builds don't seem to make a huge amount of difference some of the time. I spend hours every week on PH, eBay, autotrader, and a lot of nice cars just don't seem to be selling very quickly at the moment and end up getting heavily reduced. Brexit fears? 
It depends how long you're prepared to wait. If time is not an issue, try to hang on for very close to the asking price. However, once you decide you want a new car, a month can seem like a lifetime.
