I'm presuming I would still need to get 'aftermarket' bushings - to fit my Whiteline 24mm adjustable rarb

 

Not sure there,someone with more knowledge this confirm or decline,but i'm using aftermarket on mine Eibach front and rear

Ahh so the bushings fit both mounts, as it's only the reinforcement on the 'later' type mount which is different?

No luck yet...

Been corresponding with my scooby dealer today. Basically he's saying they've never seen the 'later' type mount. I sent him over the pic above to try and assist. Here's an email from him:

Many Thanks for the Picture, I have shown this picture to an couple of the Subaru tech & Warranty Lad. They have said that they have not cannot recalled seeing a bracket like the one in your picture. I have sent another picture of the rear suspension; This is for all vehicles from 05 model years onwards. The Catalogue on this one does not list them with sizes. It will only show what they are applicable for.

I hope this picture assists you in trying to source the correct brackets & bushes.

And here's a couple of screen shots he sent over. Both the mounts look the same though, and have the same part numbers

bonesetter, Can i ask how much you paid?
Im still after some, cant dacide whether to go with these or whitelines.

 

^ 'course - with a bit of delivery they came to £40, which while looks mahoosively cheaper than WL's (£140 ?), all's not rosey - see here

 

^ Might just go for the WL's mounts to save the hassel, Scoobyparts do them for £84.

 

I've decided not to bother altogether. OK a few have failed but after talking to a Subaru motorsport friend he says it's only really when running a super stiff rear, say 27mm bar with solid links and a liking for launching off the kerbs when they fail

Other thing to consider is what is the reduction of chassis flex at this point going to induce further along the chassis with the increased energy transmissions?

 

I've seen them fail with only a 22mm adjustable. Its cheap peace of mind if you ask me. At this point, you may need the "saddle" for the new mount (its been ages since I've dealt with this so can't remember if you can use your old saddle with the new mount. Worth giving it a try, will save you the hassle of getting a new one and a new bushing). If you need a new saddle, contact WL or a WL dealer for a poly bushing for your swaybar size and that year mount (04+). The bushing shape on the newer mount is different to what you currently run.

I wanted peace of mind, and thought this the cheapest option. However as pointed out above WL's complete units are £84, and the other bits needed (saddles and now bushings) are getting up towards that. Will have to find out how much the extra bits are and then decide which way to go

I wasn't going to bother changing anything, but as you say it is peace of mind. Again, thanks for coming in

 

Also, (*pressure on*) what are your thoughts on any knock on effect of the reduced amount of flex at this point with the stronger mounts
