Alarm randomly going off??

Alarm randomly going off??
I'm having problems with my alarm and it's really starting to do my head in 
It can be fine for weeks then acts up for a few days and is totally random. No reason for it to go off but it does, never for longer than about 5 seconds then turns it self off. The other day i opened the drivers door with the engine running and it went off??
Is this a sign of the battery going bad or something else?
