the sliding bar on my disklok is getting very hard to operate - does anybody know if you can **** a little DW40 on it???

the reason i ask is that on the casing of the thing, it says DON'T oil the lock - but does thiis include the sliding bar as well???

I would say oil the sliding bar no problem, dont oil the lock itself as this can attract dust and dirt, which could knack it! (err.....technical term )
