Hi I have a concept 300 and a MY00 X reg. When I first had the car new, I had the alarm installed and had this problem too, when you disarmed the alarm and the doors unlocked they would relock about 1.5 second later. I took the car back to the alarm dealer who said it was a subaru part gorn wrong, then took it to subaru who said it was the alarm..... the long of the short of it was that it was a central locking modgel (subaru part). I tried to get it done under warranty but subaru colchester blamed the alarm installer and vice versa so ended up paying

As Gary-X705 has had a similar problem which seemed to have been caused by a faulty subaru part, then obviously that part could be at fault here. Otherwise, it is possible that the original installer of the C300 couldn't understand how to trigger the subaru's multi-point locking and installed his own 'slave' motor in the driver's door to push and pull on the lock mechanism (which in turn will make the rest of the doors lock and unlock). If this motor has become out of alignment it can cause the symptoms you describe. Before taking the car to Subaru, take the car to your local Clifford agent who can check it over and if necessary, connect the central locking function correctly.

scoobychick,
what you need to do is turn off the autolock
feature, using your valet code which is in the back
of your user manual you enter in your vallet code on
the PLANVIEW 2 switch, and refer to the selectable
feature table at the back of the manual

As this is an intermittant fault it's a pain to locate but the Clifford dealer said the first thing to do was to decide whether it's the Clifford or the cars central locking so they have separated the Clifford system from the cars central locking system. They checked the Clifford and it appears to have been installed correctly. All we have to do now is to wait and see whether it's the car or the Clifford which is re-locking the doors!

If it's the car then a trip to Lavender Hill garage should sort it, if not the whole alarm has to be removed from the car and sent to Clifford HQ for analysis

Max, if all else fails my dad says he's considering a trip to Leeds to see you!

My dad has just bought a scoob fitted with the above alarm. The guy he bought it from said that it has been playing up a bit and suggested that the problem might be the solonoid (I think he spoke to a guy called Max on here).

Anyway when you press to unlock using the remote it sometimes locks itself straight away. Also yesterday when my dad went to put the car in the garage he got out to open the garage door leaving the engine running and shutting the car door behind him, unfortunately the central locking locked itself! Fortunately he had left the window open so was able to get back in

He has spoken to a local agent who can look at the car in a weeks time but obviously would like to be able to do something about it before then, just in case he locks himself out again!

It's a W reg MY00 and the alarm is about the same age.

Is it the Clifford or the cars own central locking? Any help would be much appreciated and if anyone knows of anyone who specialises in this kind of thing in the East Herts area please let me know
