Question

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend and security device for my scoob. My worry is that it sits on the drive, It has the norm Cat1 on it and I have security cameras outside my house... but what else do i need - a security post at the end of the drive, one of those steering wheel disk locks, wheel clamp ??

Help me people - I don't want to become a victim of Scooby theft....

Cheers
Nick

If the car is visible, make the security visible (at least most of it )

A Disklok is good, Barrier Deadlock is also good but not visible, a post might be ok but depends on your drive.

Don't forget to "not leave your keys downstairs", keep a mobile phone in reach (in case the land-line is cut) and take up some hobby that allows you to keep a 12-bore shotgun fully loaded beside your bed!!! BTW, that last one was a joke, but i wish that you could

Cheers Boomer

I already have two 12 bores by the bed - is that not allowed ?? lol

The post thing means that I have got to have some huge slap of concrete under my tarmac doesn't it. The Barrier Deadlock - is that the system that locks the car in reverse ??

A bit more research me thinks.....

240v AC wired up to the bodywork seems to be another idea - joke

I have fitted a drive way post into my nice new tarmac, you need to go deep with the concrete about(36 inches) but not very wide from the base of the post, once it had dried i painted the concrete base black so it blends back in and looks the danglies.

Get blackjax then stop worrying.
None of the above works if they break in and demand keys etc.

Is it wise to keep you keys out of sight at night? I would rather they took the keys and left my family alone and leave BlackJax to do it's work. Boomers point about having a mobile phone handy is a must.

NICKBG,
Take a look at Clifford costs about £160 fitted.

Question

Zippy,

did you manage to get a discount on your premium after the post or is it a case of for your own piece of mind / thanks for making the effort etc from insurers etc

I'd thought of getting a rhino protec one and have seen a load today (outside a scooby garage) from ATG Access (sp?) - any other makes to consider (apart from the B&Q 40 quid ones)?

was told to contact local crime prevention officer but "fireguard" and "chocolate" spring to mind w.r.t. this kind of query

I've installed another car! My wife's car always blocks mine in

NB: I have Blackjax 4 fitted on mine. Wouldn't want to be without it with a family and all

Apple, i fitted it just for my piece of mind and its a visual deterrent to any sc*mbags having a look at the car.
