Do you have a GT Alarm on your impreza? Mine was there when I bought it second hand and I would like to know if the alarm goes off does it stay on or does it stop after a certain time?

Also, is there a way I could change the alarm settings anywhere?

Unfortunately environmental protection laws mean that car alarms can only sound for a short burst (30 secs I think!)

That GT alarm is not the standard one, don't know anything about it, sorry.

..........also your battery would not be happy if the alarm decided to sound for too long - like 2 weeks whilst you were on holiday!

Gosh, keeping a car like this can be such a bloody headache.

GT like most other alarms these days has false alarm prevention software. If I remeber correctly it will go off a set No. of times, then knock that circuit out. If another circuit is tripped, then that circuit will be re-instated. Regarding the time of an alarm condition, the alarm will sound for 30s and then reset after 5s. Best to clarify with the manufacturer.

Hi Nick - is there a problem with this concept?

If a 'Tea Leaf' triggers a particular sensor repeatedly, won't he ultimately be able to break into the car without the alarm being triggered, as the alarm software will have shut down the appropriate sensors that it believes are giving 'false positives'?
