Default My99 Sigma problem

Hi all we got a My99 uk classic 7 weeks ago when we bought it it had been standin for 5 months and battery was dead so new battery was put on but alarm went mad and it wernt settin off but was chirpin and beepin randomly then siren would go off wouldnt turn off

The only way we fixed was 2 remove the backup battery in the siren with a new 1 but now after 4 weeks its started doin it again it beeps then chirps then clicks then siren goes off and cant be turned of if left it will stop but then after few mins will start randomly chirpin and clickin then after a while siren goes off

any ideas welcome as its drivein my other halfs uncle mad on his drive lol

Tony

i'd try a new ecu their only about £70 from a dealer and you can code the keys yourself

he means the alarm ecu/brain/proccessor, personally i would ditch the whole alarm and get a fresh 1 fitted bud, there not the best imo from fitting security for some 17 years now.

if tyou remove the ecu the car wil not start, and if you got a new brain then the immob will need coding to it,

depending on how it's fitted but you will have 2 immob cuts one in the drivers sill for fuel, and a starter cut somewhere in the ignition loom, if you are going to remove it yourself be sure to remove all the alarm wires and cut them as close to the scoob loom, also when repairing your cuts do good solder joins,

as for a replacement, it is up to you, if you want a cat 1: i recomend either the clifford concept 650mkII and make sure they switch the blackjax on and don't charge you as it's built into the system, or if you want a cheap cat 1 then the hornet maxx 1 is a great alarm i fit them all the time to imports, if not a cat 1 then the avital 3100 is a good little alrm

prices range from 230 for the maxx1 to 379 for the concept 650, the avital 3100 is around 179.

the hornet maxx 1 sounds good to me i got the clifford on my Evo it is good but not after anything 2 flash for the scoob so will look in to that

and as for alarm where abouts are the standard alarm ecus in the car ? ill trace all the wires back from the ecu to where thay join the car loom and remove them all this should still let car run after or not then ?

cheers for the help

start at the igniton loom remove any tape and you should find them easy enough they will be black about 2mm thick, i would hazard a guess the location of the alarm is either built into the siren under the bonnet or behind centre console or glove box or just behing the fusebox, your also looking for a square box with serpi star on it with around 10~15 wire's coming from it all black

I have been in this game for just short of 20 years and that alarm is a great system reading further down you call it a serpistar No it was started as a Sigma thread
And please PM locations and information as not just members read these threads and forums
Helping is fine but locations is not please treat with respect
