just picked up my second scoob, previously blue impreza 1996 2.0 uk turbo awd now sold
and now black impreza 2007 sti hawkeye(awsome)
got a dilema now on tracker
got my insurance quote saying it had a metasat tracker fitted, which the subaru dealer told me it had fitted standard.
then when i looked into it found out it was the rac trackstar that was fitted ,
rang my insurance they said it makes no difference in my cover and premium on either system,or if no tracker is fitted
with only cat 1 alarm immobiliser fitted(standard on sti) £40 more on premium
along those lines ive got to take into consideration if it does get nicked do i really want the car found and returned to me!
i will be charged £399 from trackstar for life time tracker cover or i can get a metasat fitted brand new
for £325 or pay £40 and tell insurance no tracker is active on my car ,is there anyone out there that can advise me on choice
which one is the best

 

if its got one fitted and god forbid it get stolen, at least (a) the police have a chance of catching the scum in the car (b)you get the car back (even if you just want to sell it on)

cant coment on either system as i havent got one of them on mine.
