Default removing tracker

may be asking a bit much here

My battery isn't lasting more than 10 days in this weather and the only thing it can be is the tracker

I have just canceled the subscription and want to remove it

the garage that fit the tracker has now closed, if any one can tell me the best places to look, pm me if you don't want to make it public

Rich

if its an actual tracker unit it wont be the cause of the battery drain as the power consumption is miniscule even activated it only draws just over amp and in standby its something like 300ma

Hi

we have tested pretty much everything else and it makes no difference - 2 different garages have said they have seen the tracker do this

and as i can't find the bugger i can't test it . Tracker couldn't help me

Ive had the cluster \ dash out and rear seats but still can't find anything that looks like its connected to a live

if you have a picture it will help

I had all the carpets, dash, wiring etc out of my car when i did the STi conversion as i had to replace the loom. The thing i didn't remove was the roof lining because i didn't need to. Try the roof lining

300mA will discharge a 50Amp/hour battery in a week. I believe there is a known issue/fault with the tracker unit that causes the standby current to increase. I had the same problem and disconnected my tracker - battery draining problem fixed.

Mine was in one of the places you described. It was a black box, about 150x60x30mm and looked as if it belonged rather than being an after market fitment. I simply disconnected it's power lead, problem sorted.

It's more likely to be a cell failure in the battery that is causing your problems. Most garages won't know how to check for this and are likely to blame other stuff..

have you had any tests done on the battery?

but they go faulty and draw 300mA - I know, mine did. Had a new battery, still drained it in a week. Disable tracker, problem sorted.

no alarm, no stereo, new ecu, new lights

and it would seem that there is a known issue with the tracker

i would get the battery and alternator checked..

just because the alternator is charging doesnt mean its not got a rectifier fault.. This could be causing a drain.

The battery could have a dead cell which would also be causing a drain..

start with the simple things first before assuming that its the tracker. A tracker is only one piece of electronic equipment in the car. There are many others which could be causing the problem. Have you had an electrician look at it? How much current draw is there on the battery?

There are plenty of other threads detailing exactly why the tracker drains your battery and in which circumstances. First time round it was an interesting read but by the third time you go to get in your car and the battery’s flat, it’s more on the annoying side.

Same problem here though, any pointers on finding the damn thing would be much appreciated!
