Default Battery Low and alarm going mental!!

I am in a bit of a pickle at the moment

Went out this morning and car wouldn't start. Battery was almost dead.

Did the check as per the Sigma manual to check the battery voltage and got 8 flashes so the battery was low.

Decided to jump start it and all hell broke loose. The alrm wouldn't stop and the central locking was locking and unlocking repeatedly. Only way I could think of to silence it was to disconnect the battery.

If I install a new battery, will it kick off again when I put the new battery in?

What am I going to have to do with the alarm after connecting up the new battery?

Low vehicle battery voltage will cause most alarms to get their knickers in a right mess, so its perfectly normal to have random sirens and mad central locking. When jump-starting, the voltage drops further because of the resistance of the jumper cables (well, the clamps actually) not allowing enough current flow.

Usually the siren goes off for 30seconds when reconecting a new fresh battery. Don't panic, its just a noise (stick a rag over the siren if it bothers you that much).

During which just press the lock/unlock button on the remote. Alarm turns off, siren shuts up, problem sorted
