Default clifford manual / info help please

Hi guys. relative newbie here and need a little direction with my clifford alarm.
firstly, i was only given 1 key and 1 fob when i got the car so id like to get another set for the wife. can you get another easily/cheaply? and does the key have a chip?

secondly, it keeps going off on its own and im unsure why, although when im washing it, the screen seems to be the "most sensitive" and will set it off by wiping with a leather. can you turn down the sensitivity?

thirdly, the fob has 4 buttons but only 1 seems to do anything, the lock/unlock padlock button..what are the others for?

fourth, i have the 2 button "valet" switch in the dash but no idea what the code is and as i purchased the car without a manual is there a place one can be downloaded?

the fob is a carbon look 4 button one and the FCC ID is CZ57RRKO. if that helps. i have looked at the siren and the sticker on the top has worn out.
although i can get a pic if needed.

thanks in advance for any info/help you can give.

The other three bottons are for additions, do you know which alarm is fitted? as you shouild be able to download the instructions. With the fob in hand you can turn off the proximety sensors which is what is causing the alarm to bark at you when you clean it. Press and hold the bottom left button then press the lock/ unlock, the indicators should flash four times. This indicates the outer proximety is turned off, if you do the same again the indicators will flash four more times which indicates the internal proximity sensor is turned off good for leaving pets in the car. Try looking on Cliffords site Clifford (United Kingdom) - Owner's Guides.

Hope this helps Steve

It sounds like the the issue with the windows is the glass break sensor, if this detects noise with a certain sound frequency it sets the the alarm as it thinks someone/thing is trying to break a window.

The keyfobs are coded using a laptop (that only Clifford Engineers have), I would advise that you buy 2 new keyfobs and delete all the current fobs as it best to get this done today and not tomorrow as with spare fobs missing the car is not secure.

The vallet mode switch unit is a code that is used to disable the alarm without the fob it is a series of press codes (i.e *** blank blank) to disable the alarm without the fob again this can be changed by the Clifford dealer at the same time.

If you don't know the code to enter the whole unit will have to be returned to Clifford for a new code t be set. The dealers used to be able to do it but as always happens some TWOC gets the info and equipment and goodbye any car with a Clifford. So as said the alarm unit has to be returned. That is what I was told by the people who fitted my alarm.

thanks guys. ive been to the local clifford/alarm specialist and he confirmed what has been said above.
i have a clifford concept 300 and without a valet code i cannot add another fob.
i will have to send the unit away to get recoded to get a new valet code. (the car will not be usable while it is away)

once the new code is in, i can add a new fob.

cost to send unit away is around £100 and a week or so of car immobilised.

cost of new fob and coding is around £50, then, as i have no paperwork to say its fitted they will need to adjust/check etc the fitting and re-certify it as insurance/thatcham approved.

also, there is no way of knowing how long its been on there etc so seems a bit of longwinded way to get up to scratch.

other option is just to replace with new at around £300 but will only be a day and all done new.

one to ponder for a while i think as the alarm is working at the moment.

thanks for the replies.

Hmmmmmmmm sounds like they want your money badly, when directed distributed clifford in the uk you could send a unit to them and they would read the unit and supply the original valet code for free, Armour automotive now distribute and should offer tha same service. The other way is take it to a reputable dealer who will plug it into cliffnet wizard and read off the pin code from the computer, they can also change any settings while connected, a new fob should be no more than £50 inc programming.

is there a contact number or details for armour automotive as that would be handy if it was a freebie

only trouble round here is, that was the reputable dealer. the only 1 within 60 miles or so.

unless theres anyone around middlesex/west london area as i often go there.
