iv got a impreza p1, and since last week my immobiliser started playing up on me. it started with the car refusing to unlock unless i manually unlocked it myself with the key (it was locking fine with the immobiliser key)... and now since 2 days ago the only way i can lock or unlock the car is manually.

also the alarm has randomly been going off when i try to get into the car and taking ages to stop!!!
the red LED light on the dash is no longer working but the car will start.

can anyone tell me whats going on with my thatcham cat 1 immobiliser?
is there a simple solution or am i going to have to take it to subaru?

 

Just had this problem with my P1 mate!

had to get the updated alarm ecu fited at a subaru garage, seems to work fine now

 

this might sound daft but were you parked near big pylons,masts

lol, reminds me of my old uk99 classic, everytime I went to the airport the bloody alarm would play up.

iv *** across the problem ur on about jim....was not amused when that happened ended up gettin towed home before i figured out what the problem was haha. nah this is doing it in places that its normally been fine in.
