Default alarm fitting help

looking for some help. Please bare in mind I have no experience in this field what so ever lol. Recently my factory spec immobiliser stoped working. Parked the car up went to immobilise the car and nothing happened. Of course it would not start as well. All the electrics worked. Anyway to get the car back on the road we've by-passed the immobiliser. What I'm wanting to know is it worth getting all the key fobs and the rest of the stuff from a breakers and get an auto electrician out to fit it to the existing wiring. Or am I just pissing in the wind And how much is a new cat 1 alarm/immobiliser fitted these days? cheers for any help
