Default Standard Subaru alarm issue

Basically i have a 52 plate Bugeye WRX that has begun to start giving the odd(and short) blast of the alarm.

It must go on for all of about 5 seconds, go off, then come back on again for another 5 seconds....roughly 20 seconds after the last blast.

Watching the red led light at the clock, shows an intermittant flash. It's never always the same.

Battery appears to be fine and all doors are properly shut, as are the windows.

Now i was planning on getting a second key made up, as i bought the car with only one and i must admit, the fob isn't very sensitive. I have to be next to the drivers doors before it works the central locking.

Any ideas at all?

could be that the siren is on its way out. It's quite common.

Otherwise it could be a loose fuse or a bad ground.

my money would be on the siren.
