Toad AI606 problem (Any installers here)
I took my car to the garage to get the clutch done and when I collected the car the mechanics said they couldn't get the alarm to work.
I've always taken my car to this garage and i trust them.
They said they disconnect a battery terminal do the job and then connect the battery again. Only the alarm system doesn't seem to be working properly.
They took the car to a alarm installer and he says the alarm module has gone.
The central locking works with the keyflob and so does the alarm its the immobilser that doesn't work.
Can the module be swapped easily?
Hmm I bet i can't purchase the module on its own.
Can anyone shed a bit more light on what might have happened?
If i do buy another system since all the wiring is in place can i just connect the new module, programme the key flobs and off i go again?

There is no 'module' as the immobiliser relays are in the main brain case, only way to fix it would be to replace the complete alarm unit, not heard of these going down that regularly, they might have spiked the alarm or even put the battery on the wrong way round for a second or so when putting it back together.

what happens when you disarm the alarm and let the immobiliser kick in?
does it start even though the led is red?
if it does then it sounds like the garage have bypassed the immobiliser cuts.

The immobilsier doesn't kick in, I can sit in the car and arm the alarm. When the alarm goes off I can still start the engine even though the alarm is triggered.
Yes the immobiliser was working before i took it to the garage.
I've got it booked in now, hopefully they can sort it without it costing to much.
