New and Paranoid owner!!!
Hi,
Has anyone fitted a simple rocker switch as an additional immobiliser. I put one on a previous car in a hidden location in the car and just flicked it over when the car was left, which broke the fuel pump circuit. Only bit that worries me doing it on the scooby is the level of the electrics
Any advice would be great.
P.S. Only owned the car a week and have to say this site is great!!

Bought the bits to put a kill switch on the fuel pump earlier today and now I am worried that the bits I have got aren't up to the job. The switch and connectors are all rated at 15A but having checked some threads it looks like the fuel feed is 30A.
Any advice on how I can still fit a kill switch and use the bits I have would be great!!!

OP. If it's going to happen, it will, just don't leave anything valuable, visible in your car to attract the scum, and take it to a reputable supplier/fitter to get a good immobiliser and separate tracker fitted. It'll knock a few quid off your insurance and is about the best you can do.
Oh, and if you have one of those aftermarket sat navs that stick to the windscreen, clean the ring mark off when you remove the unit, as that's a telltale sign there may be something of value in the glovebox! Even if there isn't, it'll cost you a broken window for the scum to find out...

Thanks for the advice. Disklok now in use and I've just had a Dipol fitted -which looks to be a great piece of kit, you just put the car in reverse then insert a large metal bolt in to the gearstick housing and then it's locked in gear.
Hopefully should be able to sleep a bit easier
