I have read that all UK spec WRX STi have a tracker as standard, is this correct?

If so what company would it have been with?

I am picking up a STi this weekend and the owner says he wasnt aware that the car has a tracker.

 

I have a 05 STI which came with a tracker as standard. The company it registered with is TrackStar. a monthly subscription of 11quid.

 

I thought it was an optional dealer fit

 

Standard on UK STi models.

RAC Trackstar - you can give them a call with the reg and they will check if it is live/working ok.

Got mine a few weeks ago. Mine wasnt working though, so had to get an engineer out at the cost of £125.........turned out to be the Sim card was full of spam messages

Before you phone, go for a blast in the car....or phone from in the car, as if it's been off for a while it goes in to a sleep mode and they can't see if it's active etc.

 

Depending on what year the car will dictate the Tracker make.

IIRC 06- are Metasat Trackers and as has been said pre-06 are RAC Trackstar.

 

My 05 came with RAC Trackstar.

Trackstars aren't factory fitted, they are dealer fitted so there can be some instances where cars don't actually have one. It's worth calling trackstar to see if your car is on their system.

 

cheers everyone. Once i got the car and all the paper work I found a letter and certificate from trackstar. I will call them tomorrow to find out its status.
