Default Pin code thing?

Recently bought o6 STi PPP and have found a pin code pad on the lower right hand side of steering wheel in a pull down fuse box.
What is this? Nothing in my owners handbook about it and I also have no code for it.
Is it an immobiliser?

Its for the Sigma alarm installed, it is an override if need be and also sets the alarm up to perform different functionings eg automatic door lock when the ignition is turned on, setting the ultrasonic detectors etc.

You should have got a booklet and also pin number for the override

Hi davcom, you should have been given a booklet with all your paperwork for the alarm system. It's the subaru cat. 1 alarm "emergency overide multi-function keypad", each has a 4 digit pin. no. to overide the alarm incase of failure. The pin. no. should be on a sticker or written in the book, failing that get back onto dealer/seller and ask them if they have it, if all that fails it can be reset by subaru as long as the alarm is not armed.
Regards, Roger.
