Default RAC Trackstar question

My scooby is almost a year old (next saturday to be exact) should trackstar have been in contact with me about renewing the contract? or can anybody recommend a better alternative (and prices etc.)

Tim

They did contact me when mine was almost ayear old. I then set up a standing order for £10 per month. I have since found out(not from Trackstar I hasten to add) that you can pay a one off payment of around £300 for lifetime subscription.

I gave up with Trackstar as they repeatedly failed to respond to my requests for renewal

Trackstar do not inspire confidence. I have Safespeed in my package and it constantly stops working (probably useless anyway as I suspect the data is very out of date). The current solution, according to Trackstar is to leave my car outside overnight so that it can download the required info. Will my insurance company be happy with this? Seems to defeat the objective somehow?

When my safespeed stopped working I called them up, got a test track run on it and turned out it was not working. A new unit was sorted and Bobs your uncle.

The data download is a pain in the ****, but safespeed has also saved my **** so im not complaining.

I seem to have a 1 to 1 relationship with Clare and Ben at Trackstar now lol.
