Non VSIB installer, still accepted by insurers?
Just had a Toad AI606 fitted to my car.
The guy turned up and spent around four hours fitting it. Job looks (as far as I can tell) to be a good 'un, everything works fine.
However - the certificate wasn't the one that I was expecting. Appears to be just be a small 'toad certificate of installation' that he has filled in. Nothing embossed, etc. Have sent this off to the insurers... but I'm going to phone them next week to ensure all is OK.
I'm annoyed that they kept the fact that they weren't VSIB approved quiet. On their website they say 'comes complete with alarm insurance certificate' which I assumed would be VSIB. D'oh.
If not fitted by a VSIB installer does that mean the alarm needs to be checked by one?
Or is a 'Toad approved installer' sufficient? Presumably if it isn't up to standard that'll be more expense getting a VSIB installer to rectify it.
