Default Thatcham certificate

If you had the Sigma M30 fitted when the car was made, where would you find the thatcham certificate, did they come with one? Car is a MY99 uk car.

By rights, as all UK Impreza turbo vehicles had the M30 fitted as standard from 99MY (like any other manufacturers standard fit system), your insurance company shouldn't really require a certificate of installation. However, due to the high number of grey imports, without the standard fit security system, some insurance companies ask for the certificate as an additional check.
If the original certificate supplied with the vehicle when new has been lost, then your dealer should be able to help get a replacement. They will need to contact the import centre with the vehicle's VIN and they will be able to check on their system that they did infact install the system and then issue a replacement certificate.
