For anyone who knows their way round the Viper 480xv
just had it installed, i need these settings turning on......
Passive arming,
passive door locking,
forced passive arming
siren chirps set to full volume.
Is this a back to the place that installed it or can i do it somehow as it doesnt say in the book it must go back to installer like it does for say, the ultrasonic sensor settings, this has to be done by installer.
It seems daft having these options yet default is set to off on all 4
If it goes back to installer, can they charge me,or should i have been asked if i wanted these on in the 1st place ?
cheers...............

Siren chirps to full volume:
Find the siren. At the back where the wires come out the siren there should be 2 loops of wire. One will be cut and the other will be a complete loop. CUT the complete loop. (Black wire if i recall correctly. The black/white should already be cut)
Passive arming (immobiliser) is already set as on from the factory
Passive door locking
Forced Passive arming
These have to be set by the installer. Most people wouldn't want these switched on as they are a pain in the backside.

Cheers for that, bit wary about cutting anything to be honest, think i`ll take it back !
the passive arming is set in the instance of the immobilsor, this is a cat 1 thatcham eu/thing anyway, but on this one it needs to be set to allow the locks to lock.
the last 2 i think are o.k if its available,if its there, why not, but i dont want the ignition controlled door lock, sometime i leave the car running in winter to de-ice it, then kaching, doors locked, oops !!
Cheers anyhoo matey...........

just cut it man. I do loads of these systems and that is what the loop is there for. One is to cancel out the six rotating sounds and the other is for the chirp volume.
