Question Modifying Clifford Blackjaxx ??

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to modify the Clifford Blackjaxx system ??

The reason I ask is, I had it fiited to my MY05 wrx as a stand alone system, so it doesn't use the clifford siren as it would if installed with a clifford alarm, but uses the cars ( Pathetic ) horn !!

My thinking was to purchase a battery backed up siren ( Seen one on Ebay for £17.99 ) and fit it to the out put either along with the horn or instead of.
Because correct me if I am wrong but if the wires are cut to the horn then the car falls silent ?? Leaving a thief time to mess with it without drawing attention to himself ??

Does anyone know if this is an easy upgrade or is it more hassle than its worth ??

Cheers
Mark

Only if you are good with car electrics, if you dont feel confident, let a pro fit it, it may only cost you 20 to fit it.

It should come installed with a siren, even as a standalone.

Are you sure about that ?? I know three people who have had it fitted and it runs off the horn on all cars !! I only thought it hat the siren if it was part of a full clifford system.

You can do it, the only thing you will need to change is the output type from pulsed which I presume it is on now ( the horn honks rather than sounds continually) to a constant output.

Sounds logical enough to me, don't suppose you know what the blackjaxx system looks like and where it may be located ??

That was my understanding when I opted to have mine connected to my airhorns rather than their siren.

If you going to talk about the ins and outs of the clifford wiring/location etc its probably best to do it out of the public domain.

Fair enough, I guess it may have been an option then.

Good idea about not publically broadcasting details about the location / wiring etc...

If anyone has any ideas please PM me

Cheers

The standalone system should have the separate Clifford siren fitted with it.
