Anyone know if (and how) you can change the config on the alarm system, such that you *have* to enter the security code into the keypad before you can start the engine, and not just need it if the batteries go flat in your blaster?

Cheers

Kind of...

You can enter a code that makes it ignore your keyfobs - say you go on hols and someone breaks into your house and knicks the keys - they wont get it started with the keys. You have to open the doors (alarm will go off) and enter your unique code then - so it will allow you to carry on as normal.

All the info is in the alarm manual i got with my car!

You can do this by enabling the super lock feature, but it only works for one arm/disarm cycle.

Turn on ignition, press alarm key fob, type 9 on the keypad, turn off ignition.

Arm the system in the normal way; keyfob now no longer works - to disarm you have to enter your PIN code into the keypad (with siren ringing). Once disarmed the system reverts back to normal operation.

errr...it would be a little silly if you did this then realised you didn't know your PIN number, ...but that's obvious isn't it...

Cheers
