Hi
My car (my00 Standard alarm) has developed a strange phenomenon, When I unlock it, it decides that it doesn't want to be open and promptly locks itself again, but, it doesn't reset the alarm, it is possible to open the door while it's unlocked for the few seconds but you have to be quick!
I've taken it to the dealers who fitted a new central locking solenoid, but that didn't cure the problem, I was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar situation, and what the fix was?
Cheers
Ron

Hi mate, not had that problem my self but it does sound like either the door motor or the lock feed from the alarm is sticking to lock.

Ron,
I had something similer happen on a different car some time ago, where if you tried to remotely lock, and arm the alarm the passenger door lock would open after a few seconds.
It turned out that a passenger had locked the door themselves when they got out and so when i attempted to arm the alarm it would get confused and unlock instead of lock that particuler door.
Maybe you have accidently armed the alarm whilest sat in the car yourself then used the door handle to unlock and open the door and now when you try to arm the alarm it is getting confused and just locking up shop.

Just a guess hope this helps.
Ian
