Question Trackers???

A while ago i found a small grey box behind my rear seats.....it has GPS and some numbers on it.Could it be a tracking device fitted on the car before i got it and if so could i just pay the annual fee and not pay for fitting???

There will likely be a connection charge & you also have to identify the company it's for as they differ in operation etc. You may need to be upgraded or have an engineer re-activate it, for which there may be a charge.

This tracker business....never really understood what was supposed to be the appeal. You pay 4-500 quid up front, an annual subscription of what? another £100?, .....to get your stolen car back? Personally, I'd pay that much never to see the thing again, should the worst happen. Somebody, tell me I'm wrong / what I've missed!!!

Most insurance companies require you to have a tracker fitted to your scoob before they'll insure you.

The only reason I had one fitted was because my insurance requires it. I got a quote for having no tracker fitted, that was about £600 quid over what I was paying. For me the tracker pays for itself in a years time.

I agree however, if the car gets nicked I dont really want it back!!
