My MY00 is going into the dealers on Monday for a modified alarm, they need both of my bleepers to re-program .. is this right?

The car hasn't been locking/unlocking in many places now .... it was getting worse and worse - hopefully it will be fixed?!

Sounds as if your suffering from the mobile phone mast problem.
The answer is to fit a shielded unit - so yes they will need all your fobs for reprogramming.

After I had mine done the new shielded ECU went wacko and the indicators were stuck on all the time [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] Had to go back for a 3rd one. At least my doors open in car parks now though.

 

Next Tuesday - apparently its a new ECU? Its getting worse you know? There must be more powerful masts going up all the time!?

I hadn't thought that the pacemaker could be interfering! - maybe the elctro magnetic field generated by my artificial hip also adds to the electromagnetic radiation?

I had the same with my brand new MY00 a few years back. They changed the "brain" & it wos fixed. Yes they needed both fobs to reprogram. I have since learnt that re-positioning the alarm aerial helps!

Certainly I can operate the central locking with the popper from a greater distance than ever before!

One question, if anyone knows the answer? The new ECU has been programmed with my 'old' PIN. Now, if I remove the power from the car/ alarm for any reason will the Alarm revert back to its factory set PIN? or to the owner set PIN?

It will stay as what you set it to no matter what you do to the battery

 

Thank you, kind Sir - so, if that battery goes I can safely type in 4321 and it will be ok? I don't have to type in the factory 8567? This will save my life one day when I forget my PIN - I can come here and get it!!

Thanks Chris, I 'Think'? I know how to reset the number BUT what my concern was was that the dealer didn't give me the original PIN that was set at the Sigma factory ....... it appears from the above that the alarm forgets ALL past PIN's and only remembers the latest one? If so, I am OK!

Sorry - just read my post it doesn't make sense.
I meant to say you can reset the PIN to whatever you want, without knowing the original or the last PIN that was entered.
